We need to push yaya up. He is not influential enough. Burnley have closed him well. No milner or fernando, so only Lampard available to change things in the centre. Get dzeko off at HT and lampard on for me and if aguero continues to be shit then change him after 60 for bony

Lots of the ball, absolutely no cleverness at all. No quality in the attacking play & potential to make the one mistake, due to how absolutely wide open & stretched the play is getting between our attack & defence.

This is more like Swansea or Everton under Martinez than the level of quality we expect from City players. It's actually a bit like watching a tighter version of the rags. No inspiration.

Its shite.

He's given the ball away too often as well. Don't think I've ever seen him so careless in a City shirt

but our midfield is lacking any urgency

I agree and disagree. There's nothing wrong with the midfield per se, but the players in midfield we are relying on for creativity are letting us down.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Henry just showing how neither Aguero or Dzeko going for the 6 yard box when the ball is out wide. I would add that only two players were in the penalty area.

We got more men in the box when we had no strikers!

We were a better side on the whole imo, because the whole team played in the opponent's half, like the U18s do.

I had really hoped during that spell that the team had found a new way to play which would be enhanced by the return of a proper striker or two. Instead we have regressed

I don't think we were that bad; there were one or two moments. Burnley have worked like hell without the ball and we'll see whether they can keep it up. I agree that we're too open in midfield when a move breaks down. It's the old problem; only one player who's defensively minded having to cover too much ground. I thought Fernandinho played well to be honest; surprised at the criticism.

he was playing better at the end of the half, but we need him to be more of a positive influence.
