To summarize, Inter are prepared to pay 73 mil euros for Yaya Toure, plus offering him a huge salary, almost 54 mil in 4 years.

I have Yaya down as a main reason for every success we've had in recent years but I'll join with the notion that his liability aspect is starting to overtake his benefit aspect so a good price received now would add nicely to the rebuilding fund. According to that Article, as far as I can tell, the 73 mil is for Yaya. That's what Inter would be willing to pay him over five years. The transfer fee, as far as I can see, isn't mentioned more than they would have to pay it on top of the salary costs. Perhaps I'm reading it wrong though. Zuri or TomS could perhaps be of better assistance.

I also don't think someone repeatedly tapping up one of our most important players qualifies someone for an accolade ;)

A german website would use Euros, not GBP. Therefore, almost 55 million Euros on wages, leaving 18 million for transfer fee. That's £13m. In all honesty, I'd (begrudgingly) take that for him, as I believe that he'll be worth nothing in transfer money after next season, and won't bring £13m (plus wages saved) worth of benefit to the club.

As to those saying Yaya's had a shit season, he hasn't reached the levels we know he's capable of but he did hit double figures last night for goals scored, not bad for any centre mid.
