Surely the bad eggs should have been sniffed out at least one summer ago and shown the door. Instead, we have people who play week in, week out who plainly can't be bothered or are just generally substandard. That is not how clubs like Real, Barca and Bayern have built sustained success. In our rush to join the elite, we seem to have recruited some seriously inept people in positions of power and influence - and not just on the pitch.

I don't imagine people are especially looking for bad eggs when you've just won the league, there is a World Cup on & UEFA are about to shit on you.

As for 'sustained success' that's exactly what we have had. Real Madrid & Barca don't win the league every year either. In fact recently they managed to come 2nd & 3rd in a two horse race.

It's one thing being pissed off about this season, but it's starting to get ridiculous when people start moaning about us'only' winning two titles

I've said before; people need to get used to the FACT that we aren't going to win the title every year. That's how it is going to be, whoever the manager, chairman or DOF. That isn't failure, it's reality..

Not winning the league <> sliding into 5th on the back of some of the most anemic performances since the takeover.

Cheers

Losing to a City team containing Robbie Fowler & John Macken or twice in a season to one with Nedum Onuoha in defence, with Vassell & Benjani scoring.

Shit happens during periods of 'sustained success'. You rebuild & come back & win some more.

that's understandable.

What isn't yet, is:

Not winning the league is different than the slide we're on.

The Count and the players have a month to save their lives or i'm about to go Fidel on their asses.

Simple as that. What we're seeing isn't a blip unless they pull out now. We have the easiest run in and should be able to win out imho and end up 3rd. If we don't, i'd sack the fuck out of the Count after the next loss and then install Patrick. I'd fuck off about 4 or 5 players in the summer, and "rebuild."

I felt sure of 3rd a week ago, and now i feel uncertain about 4th. Pathetic stuff.

cheers

Agree....apart from the going Fidel part. Something radical needs doing, and quick. The slide we're on goes beyond loss of form. Something just isn't right and needs addressing pronto. The run we are on is the type of thing that gets a manager in the relegation zone sacked. Us dropping out of the top four from the position we were in would have financial consequences and is every bit as bad for us, as it would be for a team trying to get out of the bottom three.
It could set us back a few years.
