I agree Boyata was good, Weiss will be kicking himself he had a good 60-70 mins to have a good game. Still the weather was shit the ground is crap, there will be other times to prove himself.

think the only one's who'll be back in time for wednesday are RSC and SWP but we can juggle it about and have a strong first 11 against scum and then hopefully some of the others are back for Cloggers a week monday.

Weiss defo missed an opportunity today but will get chances with a stronger team round him when he can shine.

It didn't help that he was playing out of position on the left ! Don't understand why Manc asked him and Petrov to switch positions. Both were not as effective as they could have been.

I just look back on last year against Forest mate. Ya see your right I can't tell the future but I draw from the past and whenever Hughes fielded a weaker side in any cup we got beat. I am just using what knowledge Hughes gave me with our own results on the pitch mate. Even weaker teams are effective with the right tactics and Hughes didn't have tactics that was his downfall mate. So weak teams fell apart under bad tactics. Fortunately stronger teams could make up for it. That forest game will always be in my memory I went to that game and there was no excuse for that match.

Weiss was quiet for a simple reason, it was easy to mark him, especially in the first half as only he, Petrov and to some extent Sylvinho were contributing offensively (as Benjani was essentially a tool until his solid finish) and they were marking him hard. He made some terrific moves when going in 1 v 3 and held his own defensively.

Boyata had a tremendous game, should poise most of the time, and nerves a little bit, but what debutant doesn't?

It is a bit pointless (more than a bit) - I am neither pro-Hughes - or continuously anti / making jibes so I think I can be objective

The past shows - for what its worth - that in this game Hughes would have played his strongest 11 - so we would never have been in danger of not winning

But what point is there in harping on about that????
