The idea that City are letting Milner go is utter crap. The Club are briefing they've offered him 135,000 a week which adds up to a potential 165,000 with bonuses. Can anyone seriously argue that's other than a very generous offer? He's been showered with praise by Pellegrini and had much more game time this season than last, including in big games. All that isn't enough for him. His camp are spinning they want guaranteed game time in central midfield which he won't get here. Sorry but he's off through no fault of the Club at all.

If he leaves it's upto him, not a fault of the club. But if we can persaude him to sign it will be a big boost for the squad next season imo.

I fully understand what he is doing & would do the same myself. He doesn't even know for sure who the manager will be & whether he will play at all, let alone if he will play centre mid.

I would certainly look at my options if I was in his position. Once he signs, that's that & he has no power. He can make a lot of money if he moves too.

135 k a week for someone like Milner is fuckign stupid money but if thats what they have offered then he should fuckign take it and stop his stalling tactics.

Theres no way on gods earth City will promise him x amount of game time , Milner has one good game every 3 games imo and then only as a sub....and a great impact sub he is , most of the time.

Just read that he has turned down a 34 million contract.....................I always thought most footballers were thick but not that fuckign thick.

Anyway , IF THIS IS TRUE , then Im happy hes fuckign off as Im sure we can spend 34 million on a game changer of a player rather than a head down and run in any posiiton player.
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

Agree Carl -135 grand a week for the level of talent he exhibits is a bit of a joke
We've given him more game time and what's the result?
A limp title defense and a reasonably early exit from all cups. We were champs last season when he got less game time but made a reasonable impact from the bench.

I like milner and think he has a lot to offer, but I do hope the figure being brandered about at 34m is way wrong, because that is just off the scale altogether..........

I think he is just nowhere near good enough, not even close. The salary offer is ridiculous by the club.

Not good enough for the figures being quoted. Good utility player and impact sub who will give his all but time for him to be off.

How much would it cost to buy a very good, experienced, versatile, reliable international, who is home grown, can play in many positions and is very fit and very rarely out through injury, who is at his peak for the next 2-3 years?

It would cost a damn site more in transfer and wages than it would be to keep Milner. People on here beggar belief

Which is probably why we've offered him stupid money, and he's still said no, allegedly.

Should we pull a Baconface and kidnap him and get him to sign up?

cheers

I wonder where he is going? Why go to the dippers? No champs league footie and they have won only the league cup in the last 9 years. Oh, and it fucking stinks around Bootle and the docks. He must be more ambitious than that? Maybe Arsenal would be more understandable or a trip abroad. I hope he stays but it's not looking likely.

Everyone in the media seems to think he will go to Liverpool or the Arse, but it's possible literally any team abroad could be in for him. Milner for just wages is a hell of a bargain & could do a job for just about any team.

He wouldn't get his guaranteed starting spot, but he"d get loads of money & a new challenge. Nobody has considered the rags either. He would walk into their team.

Not to mention his off-field attitude and mentality towards life and training which is worth a premium in itself.

I think the briefing is that he doesn't want to go abroad because he has a very young family. Presumably he'll get a signing on fee so he won't be completely free. I dare say he wants a four year contract but he'll probably last quite well because he looks after himself and he was never that quick in the first place. I just don't see Arsenal. He's not a classic defensive midfielder and they've got so many midfielders much more technically gifted than he is. The dippers are much more likely imo.
