Blatter resigns

Sepp Blatter resigns. He will call an extraordinary Congress to elect a successor. No questions allowed after statement.

So now there will be a new election, what a waste of last week. Anyway he's gone; will we get one of his cover-up cronies?

Apart from everything else we need a rerun of the 2022 World Cip bidding and preferably the 2018 bidding as well. Platini will surely stand but he voted for Qatar. A good case for Prince Ali who had the guts to stand against Blatter.. I dare say the rerun/s won't happen.

How strange, he was happy as a pig in shit the other day when he got another term.

The yanks must have some serious shit on him I would imagine and he's got no other option but to stand down.

Great news for football.

Or standing aside when not president or when an election looms is less lucrative - which is what I imagine is the case - he's fucking brazen, credit to him on that front

Very telling that he allowed no questions after his statement. This can only mean he's been told he will face charges - or at least that he is being investigated.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the reports of UEFA, Argentina, Brazil and the U.S. having discussions about leaving FIFA.

Wow. He must have been either strong armed by UEFA or one of the corporate sponsors. No way he was going otherwise, clearly.

the photo today of him slapping hands and smiling after winning the "election" with the deputy who has allegedly received $10 million in bribe money surely did not help either.

About time. I remain convinced somebody has got something on Blatter and it will come out. His resignation means there will be a complete review of all
activities from years gone by as well.

FIFA needs a serious review and reorganisation.

FIFA needs people from respected footballing nations to form the fuckign organization.

And as for Blatter.......a pound to a penny hes fucked and he knows the walls are closing in on him.

Tick tock.

Well, reports coming out from Bern suggest he is not part of current investigations about corruption in the Russian and Qatar bids for the WC.

But you know as well as I that they are only just digging and they will get help from other institutions in countries like the UK, USA, Canada and Germany.

I am of the opinion that Bladder ( wonder if he's got the runs yet ? "Slackbladder"), probably knows that a lot of others will have worries about corruption, with Platini, Beckenbauer among the list.

He'll still be around till Xmas:

"There needs to be four months notice for any presidential elections. Fifa considers time to vet candidates. The decision for the timing of the election of the next president will be up to the executive committee and will take place any time from December until March."
