I more or less agree with the rest of what you said but you're exaggerating but then again you wouldn't be Carl if you didn't exaggerate.

I've never got the impression off Milner that he has ideas above his station.

When questioned on extending his contract duruing the season he said he wasnt going to decide at that moment and that playing more games was a priority ( as in hint hint Ill extend if the manager plays me more ) ,we played him more and then he moved the goal posts again to playing in his prefered position (which hes shit at).

Lets just say my perception of him is, he thinks he should start most games.

Anyway , I dont dislike him , he did a job for us and it was worth the signign fee we paid but as I have said in a previous thread , the money we were going to pay him (30 odd million over the next x amount of years ???) was fuckign stupid money, especially for an impact sub type player like Milner.

Good luck at the bindippers.

I pretty much agree with Carl. He has fed us a line. Is like him to stay, but it looked clear from early on in the season he wasn't going to.
I did start to think he might stay recently, on the basis that he hadn't put pen to paper anywhere else either.
But I don't see the logic of winding your career down at just 29. I think he will regret leaving, if that's what he does.

Milner is scared stiff of spending the last couple of years of his career on the bench or worse. He is 30 a few months after the season starts and is not getting any quicker. He knows de Bruyne etc will be joining and we have ambitions of being a major player in Europe. He may be from Yorkshire but he is not so dim to think he won't get left behind.
I wish him well. 100% effort and no shit housing. I'm sure his pace and array of passing in central midfield will wow the dippers.

At least he can stand up!

Seriously though, he's done nothing wrong, just seen out his contract; good luck to him and both he and the club will move on.

Lol. I don't think he has done anything wrong either. I do wish him well but am not looking forward to the dippers love in and claims Jimmy moved for footballing reasons etc. I just hope they mention the £6.5m signing on he will be receiving.

Leaving us is a downward step so he can only be doing it for playing time or a last pay off.

Good luck if you leave Jimmy, I know you won't act a cunt on your return.

I'll do it if he's on the pitch ;-)

One thing is for sure. If Milner does leave, next season there will be a lot of us sat there wishing we had him on the pitch or on the bench as an option when games are going tits up or we have lazy bastards strolling around not trying.

We will
Miss someone who can balloon the ball up to row Z when we've got better options I am sure
Can anyone name one example where Milner has come off the bench and won us a game?

Bayern the time before last.

But I agree with you, sometimes you think 'my God, what is that?'. Not sure he'll look very good without the likes of Yaya, Silva, Aguero etc to pass to him. And I think he's good on the flanks but piss poor in the middle.

Any youth player would give the effort Milner gave and might end up being far more consistent.

Any game Vs Bayern Munich was basically when Jimmy was at his best.

Most other times it was just effort that made him stand out a tiny bit.

Thanks James.

Hull! He was brought on in the 66th minute and saved our bacon with a wonderful freekick
Villa, he came on in the second half and acted like a dummy over the ball to allow Kolarov to rocket the free kick in! :-)

100% my opinion as well.

Great guy. Wish him well. Hope he has one of his typical matches vs us in the future. Mostly so CARL can gloat.
