Wow, some strange comments about Dunney in the last few posts. Might be justified had he played in the the current era, but by and large he played with Pigmies and towered above them. I don't think anyone would claim he is good enough for us now, but for his time he was a stalwart.

Loved him. One of the most unlikely looking players I've seen and so fast for a fat bloke !

Looked after himself well after a very dodgy start.

James, Dunney and Distin. With those three we always had a shot at getting a result.

Unfortunately, 'result' at that time usually equated to nil nil.

I was never his biggest fan but couldn't fault him for effort and commitment. Just felt that he was a disaster waiting to happen at times. It wasn't just his own goals, i remember him needlessly giving away a corner v. Everton in injury time which they scored the winner from and a last minute penalty he conceded v Bolton that cost us the game after hitting the woodwork 5 times. He was still our best defender at the time though.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

He didn't always take his chances. I remember an attempted clearance missing the goal. Should have buried it to be fair.

Agree. But Dunney was always the loyal one, and will always be a bit of a legend in my eyes.

We'll both James and Distin fucked off on a free, so they can burn in the same hell as James Milner.

Well,

Well,

LO'L

He will not like that faux pas

On the subject of Dunney, he is a legend. A TRUE legend of MCFC.He was the one who, come rain or shine, gave 100% and deservedly won the clubs POTY on several occasions. Any City fan who thinks of Dunne in a negative light obviously has alzheimers

Richard Edghill also gave 100%. As did Gerry Taggart, Spenser Prior, Jeff Whitley, etc.

Dunne's a legend for city. POTY 4 times.

Such a shame some legends are hated on. I thought Edge had left.

I don't hate him, I just hated watching him & thought he let us down many times in big games. I think his arse used to go when there was a chance of winning stuff. If it was expected we would lose, he was in his element; backs to the wall, scrape a result etc. If we had an expectation of winning though, he'd fall over or get sent off, etc. He did the same for Villa when he went there.

I have more of a connection with Edghill & Whitley etc as they were both academy lads I used to watch & both blues.

Fucking murder watching them play football though.

Yaya Toure is worth ten of him & gets murdered.
