Wasn't Sergios goal at Stoke that was ruled out not dissimilar? Off his foot and on to his hand, he didn't mean to do it

I remember Micah getting red-carded and a penalty being awarded against us, away at Chelsea in our Sergio title winning season, when he slid in to block a shot and the ball bounced up from his foot to strike his hand.

It wasn't intentional and he couldn't do anything to stop the ball hitting his hand, but the referee obviously thought otherwise.

Are you sure you're not mixing up your games?

Micah conceded a penalty against Liverpool in the league cup semi that year. Shot was hit, he slid to block, ball hit his thigh and then his hand and Dowd gave the pen.

I think Lescott conceded a penalty against Chelsea that year but iirc he did have his arms raised when he went to block a shot not that the penalty would've been given at the other end if say Terry had done the same thing.

That's the one and I now stand duly corrected. Thanks for putting me right.

I could have sworn it was away Chelsea because we were gigging at a local pub and the game was on the TV in the snooker room. I kept sneaking in there to see how City were doing.

I suppose time, old age and fading memory are now conspiring to make a fool of me.

Apologies and thanks again.

They are a Continental cash cow so no one will make them stop cheating. I'm sure they're all still blood doping too. Allegedly.

Cheers

It's kind of weird when the slowest Barca players is faster than the fastest Juve player. And Alves is not supposed to be as fast when he's thirty as he was when he was 25. Incidentally, Robben has become faster since Pep arrived at Bayern.

It's Armstrong in football. Everyone knows it but noone can really prove it, except UEFA, who I suspect is strongly motivated in not pursuing Barca, Real or Pep.

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

So we can expect all our lads to be milling around like blue-arsed flies in a milk bottle after Pep arrives.
Put a Pep in your step.
