WE OFFERED HIM A NEW CONTRACT! He wouldn't sign it, it's his choice!

Can't blame him really. Pellers clearly just didn't fancy him for whatever reason.
I wonder whether Micah in trying to get some playing time at Fiorentina, has cut his nose off to spite his face. He could and should have got game time ahead of Zabaleta this season, then signed a new contract and possibly started first choice next year if he didn't shatter to glass every few weeks. Zabba's going to have a very short pre-season yet again, and I worry for him coming on top of his poor form in the season just gone.
Bad decisions by both City and Micah I reckon, but perhaps not getting a medal in 2014 was the final straw for him, can't really blame him although Zabba was in world class form most of that year and Micah has stepped it up before in 2012 against Zabba.
If he stays fit and gets a decent run at Villa, he'll be knocking on the England door again at some point and probably earning a transfer to a bigger club.

Probably because he was constantly injured, and then when he was given the chance he fucked ip royally - was it Watford in the cup?
I used to be Micah's biggest fan but over the last few years he's made some decisions that made me not bothered one bit that he's left. Having a season full of injuries and then deciding to go and play in some stupid fuckin Olympics with GB instead of focusing on getting himself fit for the new season, and then picking up a massive injury whilst there was probably his most stupid mistake imo.
You can't blame Pellers for him not signing a contract. All these 'good' seasons that Micah's had were before Pellers' time. So he can only go off what he sees.
The last bit about England - Phil Jones and Chris Smalling currently play for England. That's means fuck all!

Yes you're right he was always capable of a mistake, but I think we've always seen that from Micah, he always got better with games, and from that perspective he was only ever destined to struggle when he wasn't first choice during the amazing run Zabba had in 2013/14, and when Zabba would only ever be rested for perhaps 1 game in 10. Micah was never going to come in for the odd game and play at the level he did in earlier seasons.
The shame now though is that we probably will actually need him next season as Zabba's going to be fucked again, and Sagna isn't much if anything of an upgrade on Richards at this stage in his career
Aston Villa have shown their faith in Micah Richards to recapture his best form by offering him a four-year contract and the chance to re-establish himself in the centre of their defence rather than as a full-back.

If so, I'm happy for him and it'll be very interesting to see how he does at CB.

The last good game he had for us, at home baby Spurs a couple of seasons ago, was at centre back.
