Scum sign schweinsteiger and we can't convince delph to to come.

Embarrassing transfer window so far. Let's hope that we have someone better like pogba lined up, although somehow I doubt it

PR victory for Delph as English football hero and the anti-Sterling/Big Bad City Wolf crowd.

So we couldn't even get an average player to come, not looking a strong transfer window so far.as most of our fans think pellers is going the end of this season I wonder if this also has an impact on players not wanting to join as the new manager might simply fuck them off too.

We should never have briefed we wanted young English players IMO. Gave impression we're trying to make up numbers. Should just have bought players we want English or otherwise. Wilshire said I'm not going anywhere just to make up English quota.

He's shit anyway, no talent, just runs about the park doing nothing of any use. Not good enough for us. Glad we've rejected him.

Got to say though, if we don't bring in Sterling or Pogba, there will be a lot of pressure on Txiki and the failure to convince Delph will be a big part of it

Agreed. Shit news. Agent Micah did us no favors.

Bunch of pussies. Anyone worth a shit wants a chance to try and be the best. Delph clearly is smart enough to know that the odds are against him and lacking enough confidence or self-aware enough to know he might not cut it.

Sad news. Cuz I like the lad.

We should only be chasing players that are going to improve the team so it's a good thing for me that he's not joining.

It would likely have been a case of Delph getting fuck all playing time over the next couple of seasons and the media running with City ruining another English player.

Can see him regretting this further down the line, when will he ever get a crack at the big time again?
The deal just made sense for everyone, this now makes no sense.

It only made sense if he had balls enough for it to make sense. If he thought that he was good enough to win a starting berth then he'd have jogged to Manchester overnight . . the fact is that he doesn't believe that he can compete at the top so he's staying where he's comfortable in a bottom half team and it's the best outcome for all concerned as we need all our players to have self belief, have the courage for every challenge and be motivated for success.

At least he's realistic and self-aware….unlike these delusional idiots that move to Real and think they're gonna play, but then just get upset at not playing and want to leave….or like Remy at Chelsea. no way was he going to start over Costa.

Absolutely, nail on head etc. This has been nothing more than a step in a process where we interviewed a player to assess general suitability and cost benefit. The player (Delph for those guessing) listened to the likes of Andy Gray bleating his nonsense about Milner only getting half a dozen games last season, whereas he must have started 30+ (some CL) and played in 40+ overall, and took advice from our old mate Micah, who wasn't good enough to get a game with us but who steadfastly refused to transfer because nobody else would pay him half of what we were overpaying him.
The player was nervous, was he good enough to earn a place in our 1st 11? He wasn't sure and he didn't have the courage or ambition to make the move without our guaranteeing him game-time, but we were never going to do that because it's the manager's selection and, in any case, we wouldn't want to employ a player who didn't have the courage and self confidence to want to earn his shirt.
Not a problem to the player, as he can stay at the little club where he's a big fish in a small puddle, and we can breath a big sigh of relief because we found him out as the bottle merchant he was before we entered into contract . . phew . . nice one. Now move one.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

Pity to see this deals not happening, obviously not confident of being good enough to play regularly.

Best of luck with the relegation battle Fabian.

Sterling has shown himself to be a shithouse. If he's not careful he'll one day end up at the rags.

Has he? To me it's Liverpool and their delusional power play to hold on to their declining power, slag him off knowing it's an easy play, despite the fact that they are not a top team and he is a top potential player.

Liverpool cannot hold on to their best players. That's just how it is. They want to try to pretend they can by making him look bad and simply because he's 20 try to promulgate the idea that he doesn't deserve to go on to a better team that wants him.

That's bollox when other such players can do so. If he were in Spain and at Valencia, and Real came calling would this be happening?

Yes, we have made errors and had some bad luck with homegrown players rules, but I also think those rules are ridiculously dumb to be honest. Hate on us Yanks all one wants, but this never comes up when teams win. The San Antonio Spurs have had more foreign players than any team, won multiple titles, and are widely respected, but no one cares where the players come from because they are a great team with great players.

The FA can piss off if you ask me, as well as all such rules in a post-globalized world. Step up your game. If your nation does not create enough young players, who cares? That's the natural state of things, and private professional leagues should not be hamstrung by nationalist ideals. It's very outdated if you ask me. Tell me why so many English supporters then complain about English stars not really caring about the English national team? Because they are paid to be professionals for a club not country. If City are full of a bunch of mercenaries, then so is every other club with paid professional footballers.

Still can't get my head round this, his one chance at the big time.

Worse case scenario he completely flops, gets shotloads of money and ends up at someone shit fighting a relegation battle like Villa....or better still stoke!

He might be thinking that SlippyG has left Scouseland and he could be the ideal replacement for that individual, especially as Loserpool are a 'BIG' Club.

His agent might be on the 'phone to Bodgers at this very minute.

You are doing as good a job as Ted Hughes in producing a lot of waffle.

Why don't you just wait and let City announce who they have bought. Then make a suggestion? Or offer your opinion ?

Apparently the 8mill buy out clause only applies to champs lge clubs, normal price for the Scousers.

I think he is crazy, I'm not being biased, I'd say same if any of the top four wanted him and he turned them down.
