The pricing has been gradually going up suggesting that it's been more of a marketing exercise than a desire to give fans cheap tickets. Once success arrives, which it surely will, demand will increase & added to the need to pretend we're balancing the books for Platini, people such as myself may become irrelevent if there are enough willing to pay & indeed argue the case for higher prices.

The prices have been gradually going up?? When? I will gladly argue against higher prices if and when I ever see any. Of course the lower prices were a marketing exercise, one that we've all benefitted from massively. If the cup games return to normal prices next season due to demand that is NOT the price going up it is merely them returning to the previous pricing structure at the end of what has been one hell of a promotion period.

However you describe it. There has been a gradual increase in prices. That's out of choice not neccessity. Therefore the cheap prices are not a 'gift' they are, as you say 'promotional' it's purely a marketing tool. Once the desired effect has been achieved the tickets go to full price. Where is the evidence to suggest they won't take that a step further each season from now on, as the other clubs have done?

I hope they don't but I'm no longer confident about such things.

THE CLUB HAVE BEEN FANTASTIC UP TO NOW BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY IT,S A BUSINESS AND THOSE PRICES CANNOT CONTINUE I STILL DONT THINK THEY WILL EVER DO WHAT THE SCUM HAVE DONE AND RAISE PRICES EVERY NANNO SECOND.

I THINK THE PRICES WILL END UP BEING RESONABLE.

I was sure we were being run along different lines to other clubs but I'm no longer sure that's the case so I'm now concerned that we may put up prices as they've done which may rule me out, that's all. I know a lot of people who have the same concerns. As Carl says it's been great so far but it's a business. Other similar businesses have quickly pushed up prices. We'll get some idea soon from the season ticket prices for next season I suppose.

FFS man. THEY HAVE NOT PUT PRICES UP, they've merely removed the promotion that was there for the earlier rounds, it's a Semi Final fer christs sake. The sky hasn't fallen in yet.

If and only IF there is a significant increase (i.e. not in line with inflation, taking into account a few seasons of freeze) in Season Ticket prices for next season then by all means hit the panic switch but nothing they have done so far demonstrates anything other than sensible and sympathetic pricing.

Following your theory it might be a good time to start a thread about how the owners are mad to have sacked Mancini and sold our best player to Real Madrid cos both those situations MIGHT happen in the future!

I recon I've spelled it out pretty reasonably & I'm not making any rash assumptions. It's not the semi prices or just the ticketing that give me reason to think it could be changing but lots of things in different areas coming together. Hopefully it will turn out to be nothing but either way I can't be arsed about it anymore now, I'll just wait & see what happens.

I must have missed a post unless you spelt it out in a different thread as I can only see you talking about the price of the ticket for the semi indicating a price increase. At no point did the club ever say "we've reduced the price of cup games permanently", they were absolutely clear that they were offering a special deal and have indeed offered different deals from match to match. They made no secret of the fact that the initiatives were to try and increase the number of bums on seats at the less popular games. It amazes me that you think that the owner spending many millions behind the scenes, £200m on transfers and countless millions on salaries for said players and still offering these deals all the way up to the quarter finals of a cup competition somehow equates to cause for concern

They are determined to not let them go on open sale, obviously the right decision!

Club have just released more seats for weds now allegedly there is a couple of thousand left for weds and between 4-5000 left for the away leg

Regarding Season Tickets - we are going to have to swallow some here as these will rise and rise in the coming years. Simple supply and demand will come into force eventually.

We're currently offer great value for season tickets but I think we will become a upper level player when it comes to pricing structures once the matches start selling out on a consistent basis (Not including giving all those £5 tickets to Manchester Uni, local residents and school sports clubs) which is how we sell out Eastlands currently.

I reckon the kids promotions will stay in place though which will be a good thing.

We also have the oft talked about capacity increase to factor in, maybe they'll keep the prices lowish to help fill a larger capacity stadium? All just pure guesswork

Which is what the article on the OS that I linked to says, kinda. Access card holders with 10pts = 1 extra and Season card and Citycard holders = 2 extra
