Lads certainly got a lot if potential by the sounds if things. Welcome to Man City, keep working hard and hopefully you will break through.

The 11 million quoted is 5 with 6m add ons. Plus hearing bits about a loan back to Fulham.
I haven't a fecking clue what I'm doing! Gillie come back man I want my sig back. As the Photobucket thingy gone?

Is he that much better than Barker though. You among a few others have likely seen much more of our EDS than most. Or will have direct competition up both their games and then we have the nice problem of a selection headache in a few years?

Also, will he go straight into the EDS or go out on loan? I imagine we will want him to learn the City way before he goes on loan, but it was mooted he could go back to Fulham as part of the deal

He plays on the other wing. Not competition for Barker.

However I'd say for all Barker's potential, Roberts' is a little higher. He'll stay with the EDS for a tiny bit I think

Am I right in thinking that he is a few years younger than Barker ?

First 3 signings, all English. Next 3?

This lad looks a real prospect and good to see the board getting the players in.

Excellent signing, bags and bags of potential here.

Cue the rag media making every story about "City's desperate move to remedy 'aging squad'".

It must be true, Gillie and Stu Brennan just started following him on Twitter ;-)

I will be seeing a Fulham season ticket this pm for a pint or two, I will see what he has to say about the lad.

Almost hurts me to agree with you on this re the potential. Having already played some in Fulham's first team I can't see him playing only youth football so i would expect him to be loaned somewhere but yes maybe some bedding in time with the EDS so he gets to know us, the players and our ways and thinking.

Personally I don't think he is better than what we have in attacking positions, but I think we have exceptional talent in those positions & I do think he is comparable, & is certainly one of the best opponents City have faced. He is also different to what we have.

The other lad who impressed me is Jerome Sinclair at Liverpool who, when I was home, appeared to have turned down a contract & asked to leave. Now wouldn't that be funny ?

If Football Managers scouting and performance database is anything to go by, we may have just signed a player who will go onto to great things.

Delighted to have signed him and it may look a no brainer in a few years time but it does not look good on our academy when this is the second u18 we have bought for big money in the past month.

To an extent yes, you are probably right. At the same time, creating even fiercer competion will pressure those who have the ability to improve to improve even further and pick things up from their new competitors. I don't know but I wouldn't think that Vieiria is under pressure to play Unal or Roberts if he doesn't feel they're good enough, in the same way as Pellegrini is definitely under pressure to play Sterling, considering his wages and transfer fee. That way I don't think these new younger players will stand in the way of the development of any of our current EDS-players, as long as they're good enough.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Just heard good old TShite ( a media based show I think) and some goon saying that the Roberts signing is the one that disappoints me most. He suggested City have bought him as much as anything to stop anyone else getting him and to only use him in our EDS is a nonsense when he made his first team debut over a year ago.

He, whoever he was, even suggested city are having to buy talent from elsewhere because our academy has nothing of quality coming through. Shame it was a a phone in show as he might have had his head bitten off.
