But unlike Benj, I still think being Phil could develop into a top striker - a Drogba type (no seriously) - I would not want to lose him from our books

There is definitely ability & power with Big Balls Phil but what he needs is a basic understanding of how to play football, which for some reason applies to most players in the Ecuador national team. They play like kids on a school playground, shooting from 40 yds when team mates are unmarked in the box etc. They seem to have quite a few big, strong, fast, athletic players with decent skill but no fucking idea what to do & very greedy on the ball.

Basic understanding=off side rule!?

well, i for one don't feel like this season i understand the offside rule, so i'm right there with Big Phil i guess. ;)

cheers

I thought SOF was refering to Ted's understanding of the rule
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

I think sometimes he thinks he is playing 5a side and he can just stand on his own near to their goal. Great player though (pushes tongue into cheek)!!!
