U-TURN

We have seen relentless money for Kevin De Bruyne to Man City in the last two hours, with his agent said to be furious that the Wolfsburg star was put in such an awkward situation when answering questions at an award ceremony in Hamburg.

We are 8/11 that he goes to Man City (from 11/2) and 1/1 that he stays.

DE BRUYNE AGENT ‘FURIOUS’

More on Kevin De Bruyne, now. His representative, Patrick de Koster, is very unhappy and says the Belgium international was put in “an awkward position” as he was asked a leading question.

"I am furious by what has happened tonight. Kevin wanted to show respect by attending this event. “No decision has been made on Kevin's future in this transfer window. We have yet to find out if Wolfsburg has reached any agreement with a club.

“Kevin remains a Wolfsburg player, and is focused on his job at the club. He also remains happy at Wolfsburg."

Think I preferred the days when deadline day involved watching teletext to find out we'd signed a D Beasley and having no idea who he was.

He does have a touch of the Kuyts about him. Thinking he will look a lot better in sky blue. He certainly looks an upgrade on Navas.

If the transfer window was extended to Xmas then this would rumble on til then. I wish the window would shut at the end of July to shorten this tedium.

That's because we could tempt them with Tony Towers going the other way.

And Mick Horswill - the classic makeweight.

My only issue with this is why all the rigmarole?

I get this feeling that there is something in the background and it's something to do with the likes of Barca. Similar to the Kaka malarkey, I'm thinking that somebody like Barca have promised Wolfsburg a wad but only in January or next season. Wolfsburg then get to keep a very good player for the upcoming season with a promise of riches later down the line.

Either way, we're soon to find out.
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".
