I was watching the Ballet On Ice on youtube earlier. If all them fans can turn up to Maine Road, and the players can still function on a pitch like that, why do we struggle to do similar today? Is it really a case of safety, or is it the police/council shitting themselves about being sued by the public incase somebody slips?

I just find it daft how people seemed to get by back then, but not now. Obviously I'm simplifying the matter, but I'm still a bit perplexed.

I was following it earlier today, but to be honest I've not bothered since everybody started arguing.

In a nutshell, it's because the ambulance service are already very busy and the police are only answering emergency calls, so it's a lack or resources.

Had a great day, got up early, ploughed into work, got knocked off at 1030, did a few handbreaks on the way home, then got to see a load of low speed car crashes and spinning on ice outside the house. Could talk about snow all day long.

To add to the excitement, the game got called off allowing our injured players to be back for the scum and allowing me 2 more weeks of butterflies and laying into the boss. All-in-all, not a bad day really!
