Silva can play at this level at least 5 more years, if you ask me. Our amazing Merlin has one huge advantage, he is injury free.
We can't keep playing him every game. Especially as he gets older. We'll grind him into the earth

Which is a much more reliable indicator of his immanent arrival than all this media crap.

Wasn't he carrying a knock for the end of last season. I thought he had an operation in the summer.

Turned out them reports were false about the op. He does have a dodgy ankle though.

Fucking circus antics. This whole deal. Not saying we're at fault as we've usually (if not always) carried ourselves with class in business dealings with other clubs and have done so here as well. But fucking hell, what's with the drama around football business? We're talking about massive money deals which you think would be executed with some professionalism and you have the likes of leaky Liverpool and 'poor man' Italian clubs to deal with, not to mention the Germans who have made this saga a famously painful one.

I don't mind this dragging out, what really pisses me off is how the media have upped there price hand over fist to immense prportions. When this started it was in region of 30 mil but with every new article the price has risen, even though they were reporting official statements saying no offer has been made.
Listening to TS before there was a German guy on who actually upped his figure 3 times in the same slot, finishing on nearly a 100 mil, only for Durham to say that he'd had it official that the reported amount is nowhere near what's being reported.
And don't get me on the 250 grand a week shit, none of our players earn anywhere near that unless they win everything including the inter-universe cup.
Wankers!

SSN reporting deal is substantially LESS than that being reported from Germany (£58 million) .

They can report all they want, but a deal has not yet been agreed so it is only guess work. The media spend fortunes attempting to get the inside story but they are clueless. None of them reported the Dzeko deal as a loan until after the clubs announced it.

You are all correct, other than Silva is actually 29 not 30 until the new year. He doesn't rely on pace at all so has good few years left at the top level if he remains relatively injury free but yes we do need more opportunities to rest him and need cover for him if injured too. De Bruyne could play his role or the wide right role with more skill but less speed than Navas. He will be a perfect addition.
