BEST NEWS ALL WEEK

Postby Mark (Blue Army) » Thu Jan 07, 2010 2:43 am

Please leave him your "lovely" farewell messages.

GARY NEVILLE is set to retire from football at the end of this season.

The Manchester United hero is out of contract in June and there are no plans to offer a new one.

Right-back Neville, 34, has been hit by a series of injuries over the last two years. Fellow United veterans Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs have new one-year deals.

Ex-England star Neville has played 583 first-team games so far in a superb 18-year career at Old Trafford.

I feel sorta sad about that...it's 1 less to hate, ridicule or target with abuse.
It'll be like playing darts without the board.

Don't cry for scum Gary Neville,
the truth is you passed it to Goater!

at Maine Road, Moss Side
But then you fucked up!

DONT WORRY we will not have seen the last of him, he is in the final stages of completing his UEFA A Licence coaching badge. We should get him against us at some stage in the future.

Who will be their choice for right back once he's gone? That lad Rafael doesn't look bad tbh, so I would have preferred for Neville to play for another season. Unless they play Wes Brown as right back?

Kind of agree in that I loved hating the likes of him, g*ggs, Sc*oles etc the fucking bastards that they are!

Do you think it says something about the Scum's relative demise in terms of their overall quality that the majority of the new players they have are not quite as hateable as the scum of old. Make no mistakes, nobody is saying our feelings towards their club or manager has changed, but these days we have seen Tevez come to us and many have said that if Vidic came we wouldnt be that bothered. Now if this was years ago and it was one of the chuckly brothers Sh*rp or Hughes ( ;-) ) coming, it would have been ruled out straight away. Just interested as to why most of the newer batch of players arent hated quite as much as the older twats.

Errrrmmmmm...... the "man" is a complete mong. Doubt he will ever manage in Premier League.

Although I HAVE seen weirder things. Like hated rag legends managing City. That was weird. Or did I just dream that all?
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

To be honest, and I've said this before, Gary Neville althou a figure of fun, is one of the few Rags I queitly admire. Local lad, living the dream of playing for HIS club. He hates us with a passion which is exactly how it should be and when we stuff them there is nobody at their club who it hurts more, likewise when they mugged us earlier this season it meant the most to him seeing Owen pop up at the end. It's far more fun seeing him hurt after being thumped by us than the other souless players who just trudge off and look like they don't care.

Mike Doyle was exactly the same for us.

Players like Neville make derby day for me.
