I find this all very odd. I just don't see why he would be attracted to Liverpool over Bayern. A manager of that reputation surely only resigns from his club and takes a break with something very specific in mind that he's already earmarked for, and I find it hard to believe that it's not Bayern.
On the subject of him taking a break though, I also think it could have simply been a crafty move from him, as if he had another season like the last one at Dortmund, his star would have been well and truly on the wane and Liverpool would probably have been his level.
