The report I read on ESPN says the profit on player transfers was prior to the huge outlay on Sterling, De Bruyne, and Otamendi, which would surely drop that profit to about a 120m deficit on player transfers. Wouldnt that take away the overall net profit?

Yes, it is to May 31st, which is the end of our financial year, and those transfers came afterwards so they will go in next year's accounts, as will whatever we get for Edin, Jovetic and the various youngsters we have sold, plus any new commercial deals since then, some of impact of the extended stadium capacity and the effect of any trophies we progress in this season etc. etc.... As with any ongoing business, there is always activity in train when the accounts are taken, but nothing to worry about or diminish the achievement.

From what I read over summer, the amount received from sales appears all in this year, whereas, as you say, purchases are amortised over the length of the contract. So if Jovetic was £25m over 5 years, he was costing us £5m a year plus wages. We sell him for £10m (can't remember what it actually was), meaning in this year's accounts, we're £15m up, plus wage savings. We then buy de Bruyne for £55m over 6 years, so about £9m a season, so we've got a saving this year and then need to find an extra £4m a season from next year, but by that point, the new TV deal has kicked in, plus the extra seats etc.

Same thing with the other purchases and sales. It also means selling £10m of academy products let's you buy a £50m player. You can understand the reasons for the odd few million spent on kids, as if they don't turn into what we need, selling them on actually works for us.

It's as if Soriano knew what he was doing after all. Maybe he should write a book on how to build a club financially.

Not quite on Jovetic. He cost us £25m, so amortising his cost across 5 seasons does indeed mean it shows on the books as £5m per season, but when you sell him you also have to crystallise the remaining amount. His sale for £10m? (if indeed it happened this summer) will result in a £5m loss once you add back in the £15m not yet accounted for.

Maybe the owners realise there's a limit to how much bullshit people will take. It takes some balls to be reporting that you have 'legitimate' revenue anywhere close to that of Utd, Arsenal & us. You bring in very little from sponsorships with no connection to your owner & Abu Dhabi.

All I want to know is this .............."Is it your year, this year , next year , last year , in afew years?'..........I think we should be told.

Thanks

Listen sad sack, there is no way that City could get away with not having legitimate revenue. UEFA go through every detail of our accounts with a fine toothcomb to keep the old G14 sweet.

Our Etihad deal is actually undervalued now when you consider what other clubs (that have nowhere near the success we've had in the last 5 years) get for just shirt sponsorship alone.

I would normally get annoyed by the type of ignorance you're displaying but I can't because I just feel sorry for you.

Great post. I hadn't really thought of that. So you are saying that our business isn't legitimate and we're gaming the system so that we could use that money to then make lil Stevie Gerrard slip up and hand us the title?

Interesting.

Good luck getting all those cunts to do the running Klopp wants. Fuckface.

TBH I was expecting bigger revenues with the extra commercial deals. BUT as we have no interest in increasing profits at this stage - 10M is just fine thank you - it wouldn't surprise me if some of it was timed to come into 2015-16 to boost this season's income for transfers before the new TV deals kicks in.

And leave the troll alone - someone has to be the last in the country to actually realise what is going on!!!

i think the order of operations is:

Steal a wreath.
Lay the wreath.
Light a candle in memoriam of the lack of appreciation for the wreath you stole.
Later. Rinse. Repeat. Ad nauseam.

Etihad
This is probably the one you have in your head, although it was ruled by uefa not to be a 'related party' agreement.
No matter how many times you point this out, they still come back with the same blinkered mantra.
This has also proven to be greatly undervalued considering Chelsea and United are getting around £40m a year just for the jersey sponsorship alone.
The mirror has an article saying we are due to renegotiate the deal to double that. Around £80m a year, although it still includes the Stadium and Campus naming rites.
That must be very upsetting. Make yourself a nice cup of tea before digesting that and the rest of this.

The next three are listed as Official partners and by your own criteria as to what's legitimate I'm sure you could justify to yourself why they are not Kosher.
No need to reply with any evidence to back up your assumption, we trust your expert knowledge in 'illigitimacy'.
Etisalat
TCA Abu Dhabi
aabar

Now the next lot of Official partners have me baffled as to where you find them dodgey. I wouldn't mind hearing an explanation for them.
But listen no rush. Finish your tea and have a think about it, because when your finished with the list of Official Partners I could draw up another long list of recent sponsorship deals that City management have being setting up all over the world, over the last number of years to get them into the position they now hold. It would need a bit of research on my part as our management team have been pretty busy building for the FUTURE. (look it up in the dictionary)

Here's a nice link if you have the time which explains it all for you. Now it does have some very big words in it. If it's too much for you don't worry you can can comfort yourself with by rereading the 1976 Liverpool annual.

Looking forward to your reply. Good to have you around.
