Zab injury

Any news? Sagna has been brilliant and is far ahead of Zab on current form, but worried he'll be knackered soon enough and we have no cover.

Zaba just got a toe in to knock the ball out for a throw. He went down though with his head in his hands. He looked distraught as if he knew it was bad. I had a good view of it and his reaction tells me this isn't good.

Pellers has confirmed that it is the same knee that has kept him out for the start of the season. Never good when a player as tough as Zaba stays down

Shit. Think he's on his last legs. Looked shot last season. Very very sad, but we're going to have to replace him in the summer I reckon. One of my all time favourite players

From what I saw of him last season for the youth teams I'd say so. Whether now is too early or not I'm not sure but I'd be disappointed if he doesn't become our regular right back

I'd be delighted if he became our backup. Not saying the kid's untalented, but far too early to tell if he'll ever make it at one of the best clubs in the world, never mind nail down a regular place!

Maffeo is a good backup but he is not ready to be a regular just yet IMO. however, he is good enough to be a stop gap then get him out on loan to a decent club

How about Angelino on the other side? How did he do in the states?
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

I watched quite a few of the MLS NYCFC games, Angelino had a mixed bag (so did Facey) TBH, some games he was fantastic and others he wasnt. I feel his defensive side needs a lot of work, his attacking side as a full back seems more natural and he is excellent at it, however, this enthusiasm to get forward is often his undoing and it ends up with him being out of position a lot.

He's naturally right footed. He could do a job at right back no problem at all, as I'm fairly sure he has done before on a couple of occasions. I'd definitely have him there before Maffeo or Angelino away from home, we could probably get away with a kid there at home

Looks like zabbo is out for a long stint. Fingers crossed Sagna stays fit.
We will need to bring in a new RB sooner rather than later.

Do we not have a quota problem if we don't bring an English player in for cover? Certainly the way the squad stands unless it was a like for like replacement for Zabba in Europe I think we'll just go as we are. Plus we don't.know the extent of the injury so may be worrying needlessly, but yes it didn't look good :(
