Sterling was caught twice, once on his foot, then the defender's knee made contact with his.

It would have been a very soft penalty, but it was definitely a penalty

Not for me. A flick on the toe ffs, that's ashley young bad mate

There was more contact than Otamendi just got booked for.

That don't make it a penalty. We used to be better than the shitty "but there was contact" brigade. Sadly we appear to be losing that side of us.

Sterling has dived twice. Whether he took a flick, scrape or a bloody gust of wind is irrelevant to me, it makes him a cheat. Anyone who has said as much about ronaldo, young, Nani etc is a hypocrite to say otherwise now.

I agree it wasn't a penalty and the Otamendi challenge wasn't a free kick.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

It was a penno but it should have been down the keepers throat before that.

Maybe mate but it's as clever to draw contact in the box and that's what he did.

If the ref did his job we'd be a goal up thanks to sterling.
ò

Sorry, but there was nothing clever about that move. He had a great scoring chance, which he squandered by cutting inside.

So you're saying that if the ref gave the penalty as we all now know he should have, then sterling wasn't the biggest single factor in a goal??

That's a big fucking IF, though. Don't pretend you wouldn't have been livid if that would've been given against us. Why go for a maybe peno instead of just trying to make the best of your clear-cut chance?

Spot on.

How some on here have missed the contact even with 3 and 4 replays is astounding.

Watching it on NBC. They said we are playing at 60-70% and couldn't agree more. Too much passing back easy no risk possession. I think it probably contributes to us wearing teams down but at times it's a grind.

The balance is all wrong. Put nacho on for Fernando, sterling in behind nacho and de Bruyne on the left.

They won't handle that

Considering he scored a great goal in midweek same shit with his left peg, the decision to go back inside was astonishing.

We've been insipid but still looked more dangerous than a hard working and organised villa side. We're at no more than 65%, the players are not at the game, Pellegrini looked utterly fucking furious and I'm confident that he'll scream a bit of enthusiasm into them at halftime.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

It feels like the mids are just holding back and playing safe. I expect a bit more ambition in the second half and we'll come good.

We need to up the pace and when we go on the counter attack we need to have some players going with the attack not one or two.

Neither of which would cause the fall he took, which makes him a cheat at that moment.

No ifs or buts he threw himself to the fucking floor. I hate that, it ruins the game.

Why back up a pointvso fervently when it's just an opinion?

I thought he went over because of the contact, but that's my opinion.

Always a tricky game away after a CL match plus Villa trying to impress the new boss. We've far too much too much quality for them though and need to impose ourselves on the match.

COME ON CITY.
