I really hope he gets properly fit but there are certain players who will never be fit for 20 games and I think he is one of them.

Last season he missed 8 PL games through injury, (he played 32 games in total that season), the season before he missed only 2, (he played 36 games in total that season). He played 90 minutes virtually every other game. Harsh to say he's a "sicknote" from his previous experience. Looks like his re-introduction to action has not been best managed.

You are looking at games played and not just prem games. He has only had 1 decent season since 2009 and that was the 2013-14 season. He is a sicknote

Most of Villa's games were PL games. They dont have Europe like the top PL clubs. Last seasons at Villa. From 38 PL matches he missed 2 from suspension, and 8 from injury. He started 27 PL games and played a full 90 minutes in all but 2 games, one of those incomplete games was when he was sent off and the other 45 minutes after recovering from injury. In the FA cup he also played 4 full 90 minute games.

The previous season from 38 PL games, he played a full 90 minutes in 33 games and came on as sub for 59 minutes in another, he missed 2 games from injury and was suspended for one game and rested for the other.

To say he was a "sicknote " before he joined us is clearly wrong.

Great analysis there from plain speaking. I don't see how any one can argue with his tiny number of games missing through injury. Excellent post.

well we've ruined yet another England international that would've gone on to be a huge star had he not signed for City.
I'm not really a City fan. I'm just here for attention.

Why are we looking at just 2 years? He's been a professional footballer for over 8 years now, Shirley we should be looking at his whole career if we're looking to determine if he's a "sicknote"?

This season his hamstring injury appears to have badly managed. It has not helped being released to the international medical team when he is still re-establishing his match fitness. He does not appear to have had any previous hamstring injuries in his career before.

All previous injuries appear to have been contact injuries. Despite suffering early career cruciate ligament rupture, he has recovered strongly and has had a good injury record since then, (prior to his City hamstring injury).

From Tranfermarkt data for the last 7 seasons, as follows:

14/15: missed 8 matches from injury, ( shoulder injury);
13/14: missed 2 matches from injury, ( 1 knee, 1 ill);
12/13: missed 0 matches from injury;
11/12: missed 13 matches from injury, ( ankle fracture injury);
10/11: missed 19 matches from injury, ( cruciate ligament rupture);
09/10: missed 19 matches from injury, ( cruciate ligament rupture);
08/09: missed 0 matches from injury;

Still no announcement as to Fab's injury. It must be a secret.
