As for his personal behaviour, i think he was let down by those around him, it can't have been easy seeing it slip away having had a taste of what could have been?

Johnson had mental anxiety issues which created phantom stomach injurues which is why he didn't play.

it doesn't matter what his situation was wrt "proven" or "psychological."
It amounted to the same thing and he doesn't deserve more, or less, or any for that matter, shame because of how he ended his career.
Any type of mental illness he suffered or is still suffering from is a real and proven thing. Unless you're in the "man up" brigade who just thought he was a giant pussy. Are you in the "man up brigade"? Yes. Or No?
