How long do we keep the status quo

Postby nottsblue » Sun Dec 06, 2015 9:48 am

It is generally accepted that Pellegrini will not be our manager next season. With that in mind, how long do we wait before getting a replacement? Our form the last ten has been poor. Fourteen points from ten games is not champions material.

I myself think he has earned the right to see the year out. Unless the agreement with Guardiola, or whomever, is actually a done deal and we can get them early. That is really unlikely and I don't think a stop gap appointment to the end of the season is ever a good idea, unless the manager has lost the dressing room which I seriously doubt in this case. Our form is worrying, but we are in the semi finals of the cup, through the CL group stage and still only three points off the top. All positive.

However, we look very suspect at the back and too many players are not performing at the best or indeed anywhere near their best too often. We are losing games we shouldn't and playing poorly as well. The side looks lethargic which is not good going into the busy December/January period as games come thick and fast. Can Pellegrini get us back on track? I hope so but every passing game and poor performance my hopes recede a little

I don't think we should hide behind the "positives". Last season I had a debate on here re our lack of progress under MP. Similar positives were highlighted and I was called some names.....but we won fuck all which you could see from a million miles off. The engine room needed addressing in the summer and we got Delph. We are not going to dominate Europe with that type of signing. Sterling.....etc. The problems run deep. The squad has no balance and he cannot set up a team to save his life. We need to act now...today preferably.

Neil Warnock, the cleaner. I would probably look at Kidd until the end of the season. The second biggest problem we have, after team set up, is our recruitment. I'm not sure who is resonsible for this but they should go as well. MDM and Willy suggests MP has a significant input on recruitment.

Here we go, here we go, here we go!

On serious note it's not looking good for Pellegrini. He looked pathetic talking about 13 players yesterday and to our young players it was an insulting comment. His job to set team up to contend with these issues. Yes he had lost the spine of the team but when he sets up like he did against Liverpool then he is making us worse from his decisions than we are. He has brought through one young player so far which isn't great also and I thought he had reputation giving youth a chance.
Main issue for me is he allows too many players to not track back and work. I love Silva and de Bruyne looks great but they seem to have zero interest winning the ball back...Aguero the same and Bony can't be arsed to do anything. We have arrogant lazy culture around the team at times. We had breaks yesterday but no one tearing forward to support the attacks.
Lot of problems really but I think you could safely say at this point in no way are we going forward under Pellegrini. On another note when we get new manager might start watching manager interviews on city site again because Pellegrinis are unwatchable.

I recall the overwhelming majority being more than pleased with our business in the transfer market over the summer. This theme continued with our start to the season as we swept Chelsea aside in winning our first five games of course. Now 10 years later we are in meltdown. A clueless incompetent ignorant tosser of a manager who clearly doesn't give a shit who doesn't know how to pick a team or motivate his players. To be fair a lot can happen over 10 years...hang on a second did I say 10 years......ah....erm actually closer to 10 mins than 10 years so maybe I need to rethink my post, after all you cant go from hero to zero in 10mins can you?
That said so many people here seem to think our manager is the person I described above so they must be right...right?
Let me remind myself of where we are at this point in the season, that will surely help. Ok 3rd in the league, already qualified for the last 16 of the champs league with a couple of games to spare (there's a novelty) and in the semi-finals of the league cup. But we're not in the fa cup are we....ah hang on just realised we enter at the 3rd round, draw on Monday.
So in summary, on the face of it, overall we seem to be doing ok (albeit with some defeats mixed in - nobody's perfect after all) so the picture is still quite positive....it is isn't it....well isn't it?
Hang on panic no more , I understand...it's all really quite simple .
So on the basic rule that you're only as good as your last game sack the fooker and while we are at it we might want to consider shipping out in january some of those lazy bastards who barely turned up yesterday.
There you go sorted I've no idea what I was stressing about!

He is a dead man walking and everybody knows it.

It depends on how it goes into the new year , if top 4 is looking under threat then I firmly believe the club will act.

Pep is coming and not being in the Chimps League is not an option.

Thinking about the look on Pellers face recently and the feeble performances, how about this for an explanation?the brass went to him in summer and said"we've got a promise from guardiola in 2016 but we want you to stay for another year". Pellers said "I'll be in an impossible situation with the players if that leaks out" So the brass said"ok we recognise that so we'll secure your future financially by giving you an extra year on your contract and that will strengthen your hand with the players as well" But of course the Guardiola pre contract went viral the week before the Liverpool game and we have been dog shit since. We cant sack him as we surely would have done and hire an interim manager because hiring an interim would fuck Guardiola's situation at Bayern So we are in no man's land. which explains his face and also why he is saying no buys in Jan despite the many probs. But if it gets worse I think we will go for an expensive short term half season solution like Hiddink.

Our defence will be sound if we can just keep them all fit and don't chop and change just to give people games. If we can have a solid 4 of sagna/zabba kompany otamendi and Clichy, we'll be right.

Injuries are killing us. And in turn heaping the pressure on pellers.

If the pep thing is true and he's coming in the summer then we should see it through with pellers. He'll get a tidy lump sum for sacking him 1 year into a 3 year deal and as mentioned it creates some stability for what would otherwise be a limbo season.

If it is true, and this story is how the players found out, then my view is they should fuck off feeling sorry for themselves and show some pride in winning another major trophy for the old bastard and all the good he's brought to us and the team.

You'd have to be living on an island not to keep hearing this again and again but what you're proposing is right, no point getting down down, we just have to wait for marguerita time.

We have to keep the status quo until the end of the season. Pellegrini will not be manager next season, he knows it, the players know it, everybody knows it. We can only hope that it doesn't cause this season to fizzle out.

I think some of you are a bit mad.

Does anyone really think that we can win the title with Kiddo? Love the chap, but no chance. Or with anyone else? The only world class manager available is Don Carlo, but we have a plan with Pep, so no chance of him coming here.

It is quite funny if you think, the second team in the whole Champions league that qualified after just 4 games, semifinalist in the Leagu Cup and 3 points behind the leader in the league, after we were top many moments and we still want our manager out.

There is a really old romanian proverb that sounds like: Don't give the bird from your hand and take the crow from the fence.

Whole season with Pellers and then we see if we get Pep or not.
