No other team in the prem pushes the fullbacks up as much as we do and we have been found out big time , especially in a two man midfield with either walking statues that are Toure and Fernando.
Fucking Bobby Moore and Beckenbauer in their pomp would struggle to cover as the midfield evaporates.

Of course you can do that. With the right periodization of your trainings, and individual periodization of your players you will avoid fatigue which is a football players worst enemy. Fatigue makes the nervous system slower, and the signal from the brain to the muscle arrives later. This will make your muscles and ligaments etc unprotected in crucial moments in the game.
This is what they are good at in Leicester for example. They train four times a week, have fresh players, and no muscles injuries. And hardly injuries at all.
Injuries is a part of football, but injury crises can always be avoided with the right knowledge of periodization.
Remember what Raymond Verheijen did with Craig Bellamy? He transformed the most injury prone player of all time to a machine that played 46 something straight games for City. All with just letting an explosive player like him train half of that the team did.

I know the playing surfaces are different to Carrington and it seems the upturn in the number of muscle injuries we've suffered coincides with the move to the CFA.

Pretty sure our medical team are raging when they go off to international games to be back on the treatment table, Vinny for me anyway right or wrong is looking like he is an early retirement case. Euros will be make or break for him. If Belgium win it I could see a decision taken.

I doubt for one minute that Vinny will retire after Euros next summer, they will be at the WC in Russia in 3 years time (even England couldn't fuck up the group Belgium have got) and he'll still only be 32 and still be captain of his Country.
Maybe a lot of the English Prima Donna's no longer see playing for your country, let alone Captaining the team. Vinny despite our frustrations does see it as his top honour whether we like or not.
With regards to injuries in general, i don't think we are much worse than other teams in the Prem there are currently 6 teams with more injuries than us (& 2 with the same amount), so almost half the league in similar situation!
Many of those players are as influential for their respective teams as Vinny & Kun albeit not as good quality players, but missed just as much as our players to their teams.
We are 2nd in the league, progressing quite nicely in two other competitions, with 4 out of our 5 injured players expected back for our next game against Arsenal a week today. Arsenal on the other hand will only get one of their 7 injured back for the game, that's Sanchez and he's reported as doubtful.
So, except Nasri as long as we can keep them fit, we look to be in good shape going into the busiest period of the season over the next 6-8 weeks.
In a week or two we'll be bitching about team selection as in who should start over X rather than what make shift team we can put out (Clichy at right back....)
