Estimated cost of sacking Maureen, £40 million. ouch.

He's probably at the stage where he can't be arsed anymore and wants sacking.

I have long thought that was he case, he will run them further into the ground and eventually leave Roman with no other option, bit the bullet and shed the 40 mill.

What they started doing a few managers ago, was to agree to continue to pay the wages of a sacked manager until he found another job (instead of paying off his entire contract) - dunno if Mourinho negotiated anything special or not, but it could end up costing Chelsea a lot less than that media figure if they get rid of him.

I'm fairly sure mosdt contracts are run in a similar fashion or, 12 months payment if they're sacked.

Never understood the full contract pay-off for what's basically a manager doing a shit job.

Spot on. I hate the power players have these days.
I would LOVE it if someone actually had the balls to force some cunt on big wages to train alone for the last four years of his five year deal

Whilst I was glad we sacked Mancini, if the rumors about a player revolt were correct, the ringleaders should have gone too, even if that was Hart or Kompany or Aguero. Too often, players act in a way to get a manager the sack knowing they'll be safe. Kick a few out with every manager and they might put in a bit more effort. Problem is most know they can walk into another club, being paid either more or their existing club will have to match the difference anyway.

When a manager basically says all the players are average and the only reason they won was because of HIM then its probably understandable why they've given up playing for him. Mancini was a different kettle of fish IMO.

Players play games off the pitch, the act of turning up for training watching the dvd of the opos, and playing like a cunt has to be a case of downing tools, to hang a manager out to dry, they may as well be charged with fraud. Insider trading. Imagine you are the mate of Costa or Hazard, I am having a bet on you 1st goal, nah mate don't waste your money, I will not score for that manager, for me Hazard has been cheating all season, capped off with I am injured on Monday see you Wednesday.

Watched 'The Damned United' today. There seem to me to be a lot of similarities with what Clough faced at Leeds to what Mourinho is now facing at Chelsea. Basically, the players have lost confidence in the manager. Discipline has been lost. There are clear divisions between the playing staff and management and cracks appearing between management and the board.

Obviously, Clough was the master of his own downfall by telling the players to chuck their medals they had won in the bin because they had cheated to get them, in his first team-talk which wouldn't have gone down well so he started on the wrong foot. Whereas Mourinho appeared to have the support of his squad last season, but all that goodwill has now gone. You can't imagine Hazard or Ivanovic or Fabregas or Costa or Terry or Matic or Oscar busting a gut for him. Indeed, they have the air of employees who don't give a shit as they know the boss is on his way out.

It is a matter of time and the Guardiola situation may see a change before the year is out. He is a dead man walking

Tony Cascarino said Costa was running away from goal, Hazard has worked across the pitch all season, pretty sure if Jose had not sacked the Dr they would be OK, that is piss poor for a mill a month players, would love to see Chelsea stats for last season and this season.

The players are the ones that need a sacking. No matter who the manager is, they should be playing at a higher level. fucking disgraceful tbh. That cunt Hazard couldn't give less of a fuck. Fabregas looks lost as well.

I love watching their demise, but the players' reaction to their situation is fucking shocking. They just don't care
