Douglas Higginbottom wrote:We must use the squad on wednesday so must rest as many as possible. Definitely Kevin, Sagna (even tho he's been great) as long as Zaba is fit, Dinho to let the Octopus play, Navas in for Sterling and maybe play 2 up top as we need to keep getting Kun time on the pitch.

I kept hearing how their front two caused us all sorts of problems and to a point they did because they are damnes awkward physical player, but how many actual chances did they have? I have a bad memory but can only think of 1 clear chance which Joe saved brilliantly. We didn't look that secure defensively but they really didn't have that many chances.

We had more I think ( Sterling over the top,Dinho's header, Yaya over the top and there was the pen not given on Dinho) but generally we were messing up too much in the last 3rd and giving the ball away far too cheaply and far too often.

What a great 3 points though.

How can you disagree with that?

Jim from American Pie. I might be totally wrong here, but I think Beefy thinks you were shagging an apple pie at half time. Like I say; I might be wrong.

I am not sure how many times you need to be told this but here we go again anyway. We haven't got enough fit players to replace the tired players with. Clichy and Zaba are injured. Kompany is injured and Demichelis is so far over the hill he is half-way up the next valley. Delph and Fernando are not fit. Silva and Aguero are not properly fit yet but need minutes on the field, like pre-season over again. Nasri is out for the season.

We can't just twitch our noses and magic up replacement footballers.

I think we can make some changes for the league cup game, Tokes. Both Zaba and Clichy are fit again and Fernamdo was on the bench. If Delph is fit I would play him too. Nacho could play and Bony could start too. I know its risky to change so many but the lads need a break. I would start daft Martin too against Everton.

Willy
Zaba Nicolas Martin Clichy
Fernando Delph
Navas Agüero Sterling
Bony

*gasp* look what I made.

4 out of that 11 are currently injured.

How did you know that, but he didn't?

I had got to the point in that game where I was thinking there is absolutely no desire or character on display in our team.
Our passing game seemed to be gone to shite. Even Silva Yaya and KDB repeatedly giving the ball away.
Then one moment of brilliance by Yaya followed by another by Aguero and there's a totally different complexion put on things.
That win was huge in my opinion and hopefully will have the desired effect on the team to start the belief for the remainder of the season.

PeterParker wrote:I actually think that Pellers won us the game. He made some briliant changes today, he took out Sterling who was shit AGAIN, put Bony in and won us the game.

I can't blame him because our defence is capable of receiving a goal from corner. All and all, a huge win after a bad game.

One could say that if he'd picked the correct team and tactics, that we wouldn't be in that position?

Not me though ;-)

We need to fix up fairly quickly. Performance was still lacking.

Most definitely the performances are lacking. But we're still there. It's encouraging. You sense that if the belief starts there isn't a squad better equipped to handle the run in, when the real pressure starts.

We need to up the tempo quickly.

If you looked at any team and the sum of their parts you'd have to say that we have been at about 65% (gues'timation, of course) with all the injuries, down to 40% in some cases.

Now, looking at our team, we're only just getting players back (and the spine of the team) and we've took 7 points from the last 3. Arsenal took 6 and Leicester took 2. Spurs have won 3 on the trot but can they be considered, in the long run?
