Over Christmas, I spoke with my older brother about the Hughes affair and he told me that he'd been pointing out to his mate , he meets at COMS (all season ticket holders) for a long time that he was glad hughes was sacked because he felt the Owners and managers realised that with all the investment and the way results are panning out over the season for other teams, that they realised that The PL is could be won by for City. Hence the change - Which he thought was more than justifiable given the investment City have made.

Birmingham City 1, Manchester United 1: Fergie moans about ref
Jan 9 2010
Sir Alex Ferguson risked the wrath of the Premier League once more with his post-match criticism of referee Mark Clattenburg's "weird and wonderful" performance in his side's 1-1 draw at Birmingham.
Ferguson was banned for four games, two of them suspended, and fined £20,000 for comments about the fitness of Alan Wiley after October's draw with Sunderland.
He was also warned about his future conduct, but today labelled the dismissal of Darren Fletcher "ridiculous" and was also bemused after United's goal initially seemed set to be disallowed for offside.
The flag went up against Wayne Rooney, itself a marginal call, but the goal stood after it was established that Blues defender Scott Dann got the crucial touch.
Ferguson told ESPN: "I've not seen a softer sending-off for a long time. It's absolutely ridiculous, really.
"I've been watching Mark Clattenburg this season. He did the Arsenal-Tottenham game - you had to have someone hit with an axe before he'd book anyone in that game, and he sends a player off here.
"There were some wonderful and weird decisions out there. The linesman gives offside for our goal - it's an own goal, and he gives offside! Anyway, we carry on."
The Red Devils had trailed to Cameron Jerome's opener late in a first half which Ferguson's men dominated, and the United boss continued: "We played absolutely brilliantly in the first half and to lose a goal right on half-time was a sickener.
"Birmingham are in real good form, they work so hard and make it difficult for you so we've got to be satisfied with a point, particularly as we've ended with 10 men."

Now, let's get rid of this RESPECT campaign once and for all as has been proved again, the so called biggest name in football management has single handedly brought it into disrepute!!!

But to me it sounds like off side. if a defender scored an own goal when trying to prevent the ball from reaching Rooney in an off side position, Rooney clearly affects the play and is defacto offside.

the speed of the play at the time it looked like Rooney had scored. In real time there was no way the linesman could see and Rooney looked to be offside by a fraction of a millimetre only too. It was all very tight and the lines man was not to blame, it was an understandable flag, however, it was a wrong one. Clattenburg got it Spot on for the goal. I didnt see the sending of as I turned over for the simpsons movie!

Seen it on MotD now. You're right, defo no offside.
Hart seems to khave had yet another good game.
I'm a very biassed (working a as a sports journalist in his hometown, when he got a youth contract at Arsenal), but Sebastian Larsson is doing really well this season. I always loved his right foot, but thought that was it, but this season he's really taken a step up. He'll probably never be top 4 material, but who knows, maybe he can be the new (from a couple of seasons back) Gamst Pedersen?
