Tram commuters faced delays once again after a car drove onto the tracks for the SECOND time in TWO days near City’s Etihad stadium.

Metrolink chiefs tweeted that a vehicle had driven on to the tram lines at the Holt Town stop, east of the city centre, at around 5.30pm on Wednesday.

Ashton-bound services suffered delays and were unable to turn at the Etihad Campus - and terminated at Piccadilly.

That caused extra congestion in the city centre, with services across the network suffering
