I don't think he got his leg, and if he did, if was because Diego left it there for a 1/2 second. But contact or not, the spectacular rolls that flipped himself up in the air is shameful in my book.

Definitely got his leg. Mertesacker wasn't even looking when he tackled. Called it as a red as soon as it happened but thought Clattenburg would bottle the decision. I agree that Costa only has to go down, he drops the knee and then launches into rolls and a flip that are unnecessary.

I've done it many times and been the one doing the kicking many more. I don't think I done the rolls and screaming many times though. The sprinting alone might cause me to scream nowadays to be honest.
