Anyone keeping track of Nacho's goals, assists and shots in terms of headers, left/right foot? The best strikers can score with either foot and head and that makes them more difficult to defend against in terms of positional play. He favours the left foot or has done recently and opponent coaches and defenders will start to look for weaknesses.

He scored the penalty and the third Goal with his right foot.

I'd say it's more a case of they'd rather wait for KDB in the event we reach the semi final rather than possibly have Nasri available for the quarter final, hedging their bets.

I also doubt Nasri will be back as soon as he thinks he will, he ripped the muscle right off the bone, that is going to need some serious recovery time, I'll be surprised to see him starting any more games this season.

I would imagine Nasri will also take much longer to get match fit, even if they both recover at the same time, having both been out so long.

Great news but a no brainer really at this stage, he just had to be included.

As things stood we would only have 1 striker for the round of 16. Bony is taking longer to get fit than expected. Nasri will be out for 2 months and then have to get back to full match fitness. I really think the decision was a no brainer.

Nacho deserves it, although I half expected Nasri to be still in the squad and he could of still played a part in the latter stages of the Champions League (providing we are still in it). Still it is the right call.

It really is. Not sure what Pellegrini is thinking anymore. Bony has had his chances, and not done enough to warrant being ahead. I defended the decision for a while. Now? Not anymore.

it just makes no sense. Pellegrini knows he's leaving at the end of the season. Pellegrini knows Bony will be sold. There's no reason for him to play Bony anymore.

Agree - from the outside looking in it makes no sense to pick Bony ahead of Nacho.

Is he being protected because of his age or the old injury he had or is he arrogant or immature...?
(btw: It will be interesting to see how Nacho compares to Martial & Rashford (are they getting to much game time to young) 2 years from now).
