I have a lot of time for Pellers and what he has done but Pep is a huge upgrade. Its not acceptable that we have already lost 6 games before the end of January and some of our play away from home has been inept. Can you really see that happening under Pep, I personally cant.

Last season was also a right off and a massive disappointment which I don't think the owners will have forgotten. Pep is the best that you can get and I am buzzing about this appointment. Who would have thought the club with the biggest floodlights and Curly Watts as a fan would be causing such waves...

"this is how it feels to be city......."

Yes it is aging but not a big problem yet. It is reasonable to expect at least 4 signings in the summer as the club back the new manager.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Yaya, it is documented they didn't get along and what with his form dipping of late will he be one of the first out of the door, or will he up his game?

I'm intrigued to see how the rest of this season will pan out now!

So who's going to be the first on this forum to say that about him the first time we lose two on the bounce next season?

My money would be on Carl if he didn't scare me so much, but it might be anyone except john@stausell or Alioune.

You were right first time! I've been a member of this board for about eight years and a lurker for another two or three on top of that. He can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Carl has ended up hating every manager we've ever had.

I think that's a slight exaggeration.

Have to think this will be the end of Yaya. Form dipping (the last month or so is the first time that he's played for us and not been an automatic starter), and this summer would be now or never for both him and us. A league less competitive but that can still pay mega bucks may be in order.

But then again (if his ego can take it), I'd love for him to take up the Vieira/Lampard older player role. A great mentor for the youngsters and experienced sub to put on in the last 20 mins when you need to change it up. Plus, he'll already know Pep's tactics by heart and can help communicate them to the rest of the squad no problem.

Has anyone noticed how the club statement says that discussions with Pep were picked up were they were left in 2012?

2012?!

So Khaldoon wanted to replace Mancini straight after his breakthough title win?

hmm. maybe The Kinks.....

They met at a club in the north of Spain, they played a style of football, that was sure to win ye over.......it would win ye over.
The Sheik, Soriano and Begiristain, got together and decided, they needed Pep Guardiola......oh Pep Guardiola, Pep Guardiola.
They all came City and things started to roll,
They put their money where their mouth is, to achieve their goal,
The only team in Manchester with a fabulous plan,
And now they've decided, it's time we got our Man.

Barca and Bayern may look out now, City are here and we're going to take the world over.
With Pep Guardiola, with Pep Guardiola, with Pep Guardiola

Guardiola....he's Pep Guardiola, he's Pep Guardiola......
etc., etc.

Maybe just the chorus.

I'll get me coat.

Weird how the media have shat on us all season, never given us any hope of winning anything, but when we do something like this it's 'oh that's no way to act! Imagine how Pellers must be feeling' fuck off you hypothetical wankers!

Funny to think that 11 years ago Pearce offered Pep a trial to join City:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/footbal ... 139280.stm

Manchester City boss Stuart Pearce has offered a week's trial to former Barcelona stalwart Pep Guardiola.
The 34-year-old midfielder spent 17 years at the Nou Camp, followed by spells with Brescia and Roma in Italy, before playing for a club in Qatar.

Pearce is looking at the ex-Spanish international on the recommendation of former City midfielder Ali Benarbia.

Guardiola is likely to feature for City's reserve team against Middlesbrough next Tuesday night.

Yasser Hussein, who was also suggested by Benarbia, has been offered a six-month deal by City.

City officials are hoping to resolve work permit problems to allow Hussein to start his career at the club.

The 23-year-old winger is a regular for Qatar, who are currently 75th in the Fifa rankings - outside the top 70 laid down by immigration rules.

Liverpool were refused a work permit for Mark Gonzalez as Chile are ranked 72nd in the world.

This has been a work in progress for sometime, well done City for getting it done.

I am a big fan of Pellegrini but can't help being buzzed at the prospect of Guardiola working with our players.
