I've been following City since 1975 so am very sceptical about ANYBODY coming in with an instant midas touch. It just never works that way. I have no doubt that we will attract some great players because of his standing in the game but so far he's managed Barca in a two team league and Bayern who pretty much have things all their own way. He may be fantastic but im not expecting too much too soon.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

I feel a bit sorry for Pellers, but he's won trophies with us and conducted himself in a way that puts most other premiership managers to shame.

Even if we don't pick up any silverware this season he'll leave with hs head held high, a few million in the bank and no shortage of job offers.

Brilliant! Relief that the club have confirmed this now to dampen the speculation and rumour mill. Feel for Pellers but we needed something fresh and this is it. The names he will be able to attract will help us move forward.

Now it would be so 'TYPICAL' for us to go and win the quadruple. What a strange send off that would be and wouldn't put it past us to do it!

2012?!

So Khaldoon wanted to replace Mancini straight after his breakthough title win?

Further evidence, if any was needed, that Mancini's sacking wasn't based on results.

Impeccable timing. Fucked up Sky's deadline day good and proper.

Have to say I've heard a lot of good things about the club this afternoon. Even some of the less half-witted on Rag cafe can see what a fantastic well run club we are compared to their shambles

Yep, I have to say he is not the messiah for me until he's proved himself at our club, yes he may be bring big names...... Deliver me breathtaking football and i'm all in.

We've played some great footie under Peller, admittedly not so good recently due to injuries and i still maintain the rumours have been a major factor in certain players performances. As i said last week, we are still in all 4 comp's and i want/expect the team to go balls out for Peller's until the last day of the season and afford him the respect he deserves.

That all aside, it's been an entertaining afternoon reading comments from rags/arse/scouse/chelski who are all spouting off didn't want him anyway or polar opposite and that their worlds are about to end.

So Pep thanks for today, now go and get your shit sorted, for i am expecting massive things come 6th August based on a fraction of what I've read about you here and elsewhere.

i think he took the job knowing he was only here temporarily - I will always be grateful for the double he brought us and will hope for another double to see him off - he's done more than enough to get himself another job in the Prem if he wants one though, and knowing our impeccable fans he will get a warm welcome if he comes back to the Etihad in charge of another team.

It's exciting news. I understand all the arguments about it taking us further forward. But I have to say I feel very sad seeing Audrey on the telly announcing he's going.
I think he will be my favourite Coty manager in my time.

Next season is going to be shit from about Easter onwards. One match celebrating winning the title, then just turning up to watch us brush another pedestrian team aside week after week. How many times can you really celebrate some 17 year old Mancunian scoring?

Can you buy a season ticket for 2/3 of the season?

What ever our individual gripes are regarding pellers one thing is a given and that is how he has been impeccable when in front of the media or dealing with issues.
We won trophies, played some fantastic football at times. I wish him all the best even if he does end up at Chelsea.

You could read that another way, proving that they have no ambition rather than they think they can do better?

As for Sky they have to have something to add to the story, Christ, we all know how repetitive SSN is on the best of days and the reason i don't bother tuning in, especially on their "Transfer Deadline Day" which they've been plugging for over a week now....
