Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Have to say I've heard a lot of good things about the club this afternoon. Even some of the less half-witted on Rag cafe can see what a fantastic well run club we are compared to their shambles

I must confess I had a look on there too.
They're a little upset it seems.
One thing I will say for them though (genuinely). It does seem that for most of them the penny has finally dropped. The odd delusional post crops up but is half hearted and is quickly put straight by someone more pragmatic.

Now if we could only get through to the RAWK crew. has anyone looked on there? Maybe leave it until after the final. Hopefully it will be worth a laugh.

Great timing with the announcement from the club especially it being transfer deadline day and the John Terry announcement yesterday. It is now down to the squad to give Manuel Pellegrini the send off he deserves.

Excellent news and having it out in the open will help the rest of the season - if a player wants to play under Pep, they've got 4 months to prove themselves. The fans know what's happening and can fully support Manuel for the run in. There's no point moaning, let's give him full, vocal support and leave Pep wondering how he's going to better a quadruple.

Sums up my thoughts quite nicely on all these points. There's lot of football to be played, now let's support Pellers to a cracking end to his City career.
Great man who deserves no less.

This is so Robinho-esque moment. HUGE statement of intent from our magnificent club

I have no doubt that we will attract some great players because of his standing in the game but so far he's managed Barca in a two team league and Bayern who pretty much have things all their own way. He may be fantastic but im not expecting too much too soon.

You never know but I have to admit I've also thought that what if it doesn't work out with Pep the messiah. Where do you go from there?

The good about this signing is the huge lift this move gives to our profile. Huge signing. And as mentioned, he will probably attract some top class players who will remain here once he's gone

hmm. maybe The Kinks.....

They met at a club in the north of Spain, they played a style of football, that was sure to win ye over.......it would win ye over.
The Sheik, Soriano and Begiristain, got together and decided, they needed Pep Guardiola......oh Pep Guardiola, Pep Guardiola.
They all came City and things started to roll,
They put their money where their mouth is, to achieve their goal,
The only team in Manchester with a fabulous plan,
And now they've decided, it's time we got our Man.

Barca and Bayern may look out now, City are here and we're going to take the world over.
With Pep Guardiola, with Pep Guardiola, with Pep Guardiola

Guardiola....he's Pep Guardiola, he's Pep Guardiola......
etc., etc.

Maybe just the chorus.

I'll get me coat.

I like it, but would definitely skip the verses.

It's knocking me sick some of this "I feel sorry for Pellers".
He was given a three year contract. This was his final season and he was given an extension last year, which now looks like his payout. We've admitted to talking with Pep since 2012, before Pellers came in. He would have known the script when he came.

Before he came to City he'd won no major honours as a manager. City gave him a chance to do that, work with a fantastic squad of players, and he came up with the double in his first season.

The knives are already out for us in the media about 'feeling sorry for Pellegrini'. We don't need our own fans throwing us under the bus as well.

Thanks Pellers for the double and taking us that extra bit further in the Champions League. Now I'm looking forward to Pep building something big here!

where are all the little green eyed monsters when you need them?...the comments section on the BBC website. I totally agree with mase, why feel sorry for pellegrini he knows the score...he will leave with his head high and the extra year for his pension...but no..the line will be nasty City treat manager like shit. The timing is perfect...it stops the media running around with stiffies saying peps keen on the scum. Theyll just have to make more stuff up about van gaal wont they?

On a similar note, I had another childhood flashback the other day. I remember getting home from a match and reading the front page of The Pink, which suggested that we were trying to sign Brian Laudrup. I almost shat myself with excitement.

I reckon this must have been around the time that he went to Rangers in 1994. He was class up in Scotland; what a signing he would've been at the time.

Ah well. Just one of many 90s disappointments. File it alongside the young Figo fuck-up.

I didn't know that but I do remember what a shambles we were at the time and I saw how good a player Brian Laudrup was in his pomp. There was not a chance in hell he would hae signed for us in 1994.

Stefan Effenberg was the one for me. He was my all time favourite player. The Daily Mail ran a story that he'd signed for City after Bayern. Not that we were interested, but that he'd signed! I was over the moon. I'm stil waiting to see his first match....
