Your board deserve huge credit for getting the Pep deal done. In respect though you have finished first in a 1 horse race. London was his preferred destination but neither Arsenal or Chelsea went for him. It seems our board are stuck in a position of misguided loyalty to LVG. Pep made it public knowledge he wanted to manage us, Woody didn't have the guts to pull the trigger at Xmas. In the end there was only 1 place to go.

Even as a Utd fan i've found the level of delusion on RC, Rawk & BlueMoon to be funny. I don't think anyone genuinely believes that City will be bigger than Utd in the next few decades. The size of a club is measured by fanbase, revenues & trophies. City are nowhere near utd in that regard. To even come close we & every other club would have to stand still for the next 20 years.

Not bothered about a dick measuring contest, fanbase, stadium etc.
Al I want is for City to continue to be successful and challenge for top honours.

I couldnt care less if Pep's 1st choice was Morocco or Russia, the fact is he is coming to City. He is the no1 coach in the world today IMO. He will make us better and help us achieve greater things.

Lots of desiderata in that post, little substance. The best manager in the world wanted to come to City after Bayern Munich and got his wish. We're all deliriously happy about this and the FUTURE is bright. Good luck with Giggsy in charge.

If you want to be considered the biggest club in England then this is how success is measured. The level of delusion amongst many blues is now too strong for them to see this. Many need to be reminded that there was football played in this country before 2008.

I spent my entire childhood getting hammered for being the only City fan in School (St Alphonsus). Fuck the lot of them, i hope they completely fall apart.

Even when i moved down south all the cockey reds here gave it all the mouth. Funnily enough they dont talk about football as much as they used to.

Fair do's for coming on here. It can't be easy. But to be honest, I don't think you can see the irony in your own post.
Football was surely around before 2008. Indeed it was around for a long time before 1993 and before The Premier (Sky) league was ever conceived.
You talk of levels of delusion on here, but most on here have been saying that this was coming since 2008. Well certainly since 2011, but your lot just stuck their heads in the sands. told us we were delusional and would always be small.
This is also a fact that a lot of your huge fanbase probably don't realise. The irony is you tend to confuse recent success with history. They are two totally different things and success is cyclical.
Obstacles were put in the way of our managements business plans and the media were fed this line of us having to be stopped, for the good of football.
For the good of whom in football? we said.
We have been proven right. Our managements model has been vindicated to all but those that choose to keep their heads in the sand. And believe us now, this is only the start. You have no idea of the juggernaut coming down the road and you are not even a consideration in City's plans.
Guardiola coming to City was part of a 5 year development plan at least. You were never getting him. It makes us wonder what is in store for 5 years down the line, because you may be sure of one thing. It is already planned.
Wonderwall said it. we don't really care about whatever metrics you are using for a dick measuring contest. It's already irrelevant to us.
Delusional is, if you still believe that City are not part of the future, while you and Bobby Charlton can cling to the old model and make up the ground you are losing day by day.
You didn't believe us back in 2011 and it suits us fine if you don't believe us now.
If I were you, I'd concentrate on not being caught by Liverpool, because I'm sure they'd love to rip into you.

Just more talk about how Pep preferred other clubs and how he would be a better fit for other clubs when the likely reality is that he was always going to come here after Bayern. Pep didn't make anything public knowledge like is suggested here but the media made the claim for him. Just a continuous stream of drivel.

A utd fan quoting that is one of the funniest quotes I have read. I do hope you know your history, pre SKY TV as you will need to if you want to debate that load of crap.

So, if we want to be considered the biggest club in England, then you think success is measured by Stadium Size and Fanbase? Really? I would say that Stadium size and fanbase are something that the bean counters want to concern themselves with, as it equates to additional revenue (as you know your stuff, I am sure you will know we are right behind you now on revenue). However, Success is measured on the field of play as far as I am concerned, unless you sit in your living room waving your spreadsheet around? Do you?

I am sure you will continue to be the most successful team in england this season and for the next few seasons with your big stadium and large fanbase.

I though, will just have to be content with going to Wembley (again).

LOL. So you are currently the largest commercial football enterprise in the world.

But why do people around the world support manyoo? Because you have 100 years of glorious history, consistently winning trophies decade after decade? No, not really.

Maybe because they lived through the terrible munich tragedy and their heart has compelled them to support you ever since? Nope, 95% of your fans weren't even born then.

So here's the real reason that everyone knows: manyoo are the largest commercial football team in the world because they have consistently won trophies over the last 20 years. People like to support winners. And more worldwide fans means more money to sign the best players. Having the best players = more trophies = more fans....

But you don't have the best players any more. You don't even have one of the top 4 squads in England at the moment. Your manager is a dull and plays a style of football that puts people to sleep. Your owners aren't investing any more money in the club. They're just siphoning as much out as they can, without making their cash cow implode. Your academy in in ruins and your own "legends" send their kids over to learn football the City way. To get a rough guess at who is better prepared for the future, just look at the state of your fucking website vs ours.

What does this mean? Well, it means that your quality on the field isn't going to get better any time soon. Who's the last actual academy player whose been top level since those in your username? Hell, you just spent 250 million quid and your only half-decent player is a 19 year old French kid.

You see, this is what the downward slope looks like. It's harder to attract the best players, and those that you do get are 1.5-2x more expensive than they should be.

On top of that, you aren't winning trophies or playing attractive football anytime soon. So those "loyal" fans in American and Indonesia will slowly start wearing Barca, Real, and City jerseys. Because no one wants to get up at odd hours to watch a team across the world play garbage every week. And with less fans, means less money to spend on players.....

The tail end of the cycle (which many of your fellow fans have already advanced to) is clinging on to your 20 years of "history" (when you used to buy the league). Claiming that no other team is as big or good as you because you've done a ton of shit in the past. Sounds like some scousers down the road, eh?

Basically, manyoo will join liverpool as the bitter old men sitting in the corner, repeating the same boring stories year after year, and insisting that everyone pay them respect. Meanwhile, everyone else are in the prime of their life and excited about what tomorrow will bring. While they won't say it to your face, everyone just wants you to fuck off and die, since you've been a complete cunt for as far back as everyone can remember.

Not arsed about shit like that. I discovered football in 1975 at 8 years old. Had my fair share of lean years in that time. Seeing us win things is something I never thought I'd see so I'm just enjoying the ride. CTID

I support the club, not the stadium or the fanbase. Weird discussion. I am also not a supporter of accounting. Sorry NT.
