The end for Brian Kidd?

Postby Crossie » Tue Feb 02, 2016 9:59 pm

I was just thinking about how Pep is known for wanting everything his way. Even the club Dr (see Bayern). I felt like Kidd was considered an important part of the continuity between Mancini and Pellegrini. No doubt he's a great coach but would Pellers have known who he was when he was appointed 3 years ago? I doubt it. I think the Spafia saw a good opportunity to keep something anchored.

I seriously doubt Pep would accept Kidd taking up a coach or assistant manager role, even though it would be prudent, at least for his first season in charge. Pep seems like a no compromise guy, it's 100% his way and we trust him enough to do whatever he wants.

So I hope it's no the end of Kidd at City, he's been here since 2009. He certainly got his revenge over Fergies book comments by helping us dick them 6-1 and break their hearts more than anything else ever had in 2012 and again in 2014.

I remember being outside the main entrance after the QPR game and got to shake his hand and pat him on the back, he was ecstatic and exhausted.

There are lots of youth teams who need good experienced coaches just over the bridge.

Hope he finds a role. Assuming he still wants a part. Strikes me as the sort who lives and breathes the day to day interaction in training and on match day. His experience would be invaluable to pass on in the Academy

There is an article about Pep's backroom team - http://www.skysports.com/football/news/ ... ester-city

Still looks like room for Kiddo - hope so.

Love Kiddo. He's been here since the start of the project. We need to find a place for him.

Mmmh ! Pep would be a complete dickhead to not retain Mr. Kidd.

It's not about money, it's about understanding England, which Brian Kidd does. It is not like he ( BK) is in the media , giving interviews etc.

He is blue, don't worry . He is also of pensionable age, so what does it matter? Like Buzzer, let him enjoy life, if necessary

I understand he was ready to call itna day last season, but decided to stay on. I can't see him wanting a coaching role, regardless of what Pep might want. Would be good to see him offered a role in the club though, even if just chatting in the corporate section on a match day. One of the few respected in both Manchester and Salford.

He's the best man for his role and integral part of the club. Super nice guy and hope he stays here for years to come. Someone needs to show Pep how to make a proper brew anyways

I know this is an odd view for anyone from a two club city, but the guys loves Manchester and I think that's admirable.

I certainly hope if there isn't a role for him on the coaching staff that there is a place for him as a club ambassador. I can't think of anyone who would sell people on City with his passion.

I'd like to think the board will advise Pep to retain Kidd (unless Kidd decides himself to retire). He's been an excellent servant to the club and still plays a key role for us.

Pep still has assistants and coaches at Bayern who were there before him so hopefully it will be the same case when he joins us.

He has had a long career in the game, if he does stay it will probably be just for next season, he's 67 this year, has he said anything about staying on himself?

Pep kept a similar Bayern figure so I'd suspect he will keep Kiddo.

He will need someone to translate for the first couple months at least. Fuck knows if Pep will understand half the backroom staff or office help.

I think Kidd stays and has a role for as long as he wants.

Cheers

I read a press report today saying that Kidd will be retained under Pep. I'll try and dig it out and post a link.

Sounds like the poor fella will never get his retirement villa in Spain now. Come on Brian, just 3 more years!
