Lawro and Degenerate predictions gameweek 25

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Lawro and Degenerate predictions gameweek 25

Postby Wonderwall » Fri Feb 05, 2016 9:56 am

Lawro is saying what I am thinking really, but merson just never makes any sense, I still cannot believe he is paid to do this shit

Lawro's opponents for the latest round of Premier League games are Blake Harrison and Daniel Mays, stars of the new Dad's Army film.

Harrison, who plays Private Pike, is a Millwall fan who told BBC Sport: "I grew up about 10 minutes away from the old Den and then they moved to the New Den which, equally, is about 10 minutes away from where I grew up.

"My whole family supported them so I was a fan from birth. But then my younger brother just decided he was a Liverpool fan - until then I did not realise I had any choice in the matter."

Mays, who plays Private Walker, supports Leyton Orient and says his stand-out memory of following the O's is from the FA Cup rather than the "ups and downs" of lower-league football.

He explained: "It was against Arsenal in the FA Cup third round in 2011. We were sitting right next to their fans and one of them clocked me from the telly, and was giving it to me all game, lots of banter shouting things along the lines of 'you're a terrible actor'.

"Then we equalised in stoppage time and it was just the most sensational goal to celebrate, but I did not care about that, I was just giving it back to him."

Lawro says

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35485833

Leicester's game against Liverpool was quite even until Jamie Vardy's wonder-goal so the fact the Foxes won it was another example of why they have picked up so many points this season.

Claudio Ranieri's side are not always going to outplay teams, but they have the ability to stay in games and then nick the winner.

Doing that against Manchester City at Etihad Stadium will be a much bigger test, however.

I know Leicester like to play on the counter-attack so, in theory, the way the game will go could suit them.

But Manchester City are not just going to see most of the ball, they are going to see an awful lot of it, and I would back their attack to break Leicester down.

If they do lose, it will not be the end of Leicester's title bid, though. They have already shown us that they have got too many very good players for that to happen. Their team spirit is excellent and they will be very difficult to shake off.

Lawro's prediction: 2-1

Dad's Army prediction: (Mays) This is a big game - will Leicester continue their run? I'm going to say no. 2-1

Merson Says

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/ ... -leicester

I fancy Man City here but they will play right into Leicester's hands. They'll have a go and Jamie Vardy's pace will be too quick for the City defence. Sergio Aguero is just on fire, though, so I'm going to go for City as I think they'll have too much.

PAUL PREDICTS: 3-1

So Merson is backing both horses, but not really. They pay him for that? Quite nervous about this one. If ever there was a time to cement a place in the fans hearts, the Otter could do worse than get his shit in one sock for this game.

A big IF but City must control and contain Vardy then the title is ours!
If we fail to control him and let him outpace our defence then I fear the worse...
City 3-1

If you were a neutral would you be more worried about Aguero or Vardy?

Merson's sounds like off the cuff comments when somebody caught him by surprise in the supermarket and he answered without thinking.

I'll take either shoreline though.

I can't wait to sea the game. White horses couldn't stop me from going to this one.

Hopefully we'll be waving at the Leicester fans as they leave with 20 minutes to go.

I think they will be bouncing at this game, they will be singing top of the league, they are going to win the league etc, and who can blame them, its stuff of fairy tales. I sit 3 seats from them, so I really hope I have a chance to take the piss out of them. They wont care though, they are living the dream.

Isn't Merson supposed to have given up alcohol about 10 years ago? That's a hell of a hangover he's still suffering from.

Can I ask, is no one watching Spuds creeping up on us, they're now only two points behind us and playing some really good football. Hope we smash them Leicester and the fuckwit Gooners. These are really big games in our title challange

Spurs are having a great season, but I doubt they will finish above Arse let alone us. Hopefully they will finish above the rags.

If the Rags don't finish top 4, Isn't there a clause in their giant sponsorship contract, meaning they'd lose it??? If so that would send them spiraling to obscurity

I thought it had to be two consecutive seasons out of the top 4. Probably why the likes of diMaria were bought after Gollums reign ended

Let's cruise to a big win, leaving Leicester in our wake and Arsenal sinking.

Holed below the water line shortly after setting sail, we had too much ballast in he second half and no one to bale us out.
