Handicapped Everton fan, only a kid, abused by city fans

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

I have no idea. It makes no difference to the point I'm making but I'll cheerfully re-word it to say "the fan/fans' behaviour." How's that?

I'm just trying to establish what happened mate, that's all.

I have a hard time believing this was said and no one reacted to it.

I also don't like the fact that the Echo is using the plural here either.

Fair enough. I'm as sceptical as the next man about newspaper headlines and I will take all back if it's shown that there is nothing to see here. However it would take for the lad or the lad's dad to be a liar for this to be the case.

Anyway, just thought I'd pop in to blow off some steam. Good luck in the final against our dearest neighbours.

Like I said, I wasn't there but it wouldn't be the first time someone with an axe to grind distorted the truth to get 'revenge'. On the other hand the stewards might not have known what they were doing and been dumb enough to sit two people in full Everton gear in the middle of a load of City fans in error, then have to rescue them when they inevitably got heckled for celebrating an Everton goal.

Or maybe they themselves are responsible because they went out and bought the tickets.

That idea never even enters your head, does it?

Maybe it was an Everton fan that abused the kid? Because Everton fans were sat in with the City fans you see...

Justifying anti social behaviour because of football is no different than justifying it for any other reason.

You dont blame a girl if she was physically or mentally abused because "she was asking for it". So why is it we blame a fan for "sitting in the wrong place" if he or she gets abused?

if you ho into the wrong part of town the chances of getting robbed increase but that does not make the act any less wrong both legally and morally. And noone condones robbing in those areas "because thats how it is".

Wont continue this discussion as there is no point, but I truly feel for those who cannot see how these cases are the same and how insane it is to think you can treat others like garbage "because its football". That is no more sane than accepting abusive behaviour "because its tuesday".

Have a nice night everyone, good times to be a blue!

Takes the moral high ground after reading a Norweigan newspaper article ^^^^^^

Pretty sure if this alledged incident did happen WE WOULD ALL of heard and read about it here in MANCHESTER and MCFC would have acted swiftly and promptly with ALL THE CAMERAS AND STEWARDS AND PLOICE inside the Etihad .......... you cant even have a cheeky cigarette inside the toilets now inside the Etihad as SECURITY IS SO TIGHT .

Agenda springs to mind.

As I've said before, the Liverpool Echo run these stories everytime we play Liverpool or Everton. And it's always women, children, OAPs, disabled people and combinations of all of them.

In all the years I've been attending matches, I've never seen anything like this.

Strikes me as odd to say the least.

Not worth clicking, they're just pandering to the Candlepool mentality.

Why weren't they all in the disabled section?

City's fault again. No doubt they refused them allocation to the disabled sections of the ground just for a laugh most probably.

Another reason to suspect their tickets were from a source other than an official one - despite the kid's mother insisting in print that they sorted them via Everton.

The disabled sections in football grounds are principally to cater for those with physical disabilities, not learning disability

Cerebral palsy is a catch-all term for neurological conditions permanently affecting movement and co-ordination.
