Not too disappointed. But can't understand why our manager plays that clown in goal. Bit it wasn't all willy wonkas fault. We weren't able to keep the ball.

Brandon Barker's done well against Azpilicueta since he came on. Very impressed.

Pellers has a history of playing the reserve keeper in the cup comps - remember he played Pantilimon against Sunderland at Wembley 2 seasons ago? Really hope he sees sense and plays Joe next Sunday but I have a feeling he won't

Well done to kids
Very calm in the ball
Nothing really learned
Demichellis is past it, Kolarov cannot defend and Caballero is a horrendous keeper, the free kick was beyond a joke...he is a complete knob.
Anyway we will find out in the next week if it was the correct decision.
Did show that the lack of inclusion of young players throughout the season has been ridiculous.... Dropped in with 9-10 senior players they wouldn't look out of place

He normally gives them a run of two matches, but cannot see him going with Wily in Kiev so he has an excuse if he has a sudden flash.of reality, but I'll not hold my breath

The 2nd half was terrible. I wonder what the coaching masterclass from Pellegrini involved as they sucked on their oranges. Awful 2nd half, I thought.

I thought he was very nervous. Wasn't impressed. Apart from Celina, I thought the rest did alright.
They were let down a bit by our usual defending from first teamers, but I think it was overall a positive experience for them.

We have some decent youngsters but none of them including Nacho, are the finished article. They need experiences like this to see who is going to rise to the challenge.

I think Nacho could protect the ball better in possession, sometimes. Faupala drifted out of it second half, but the Garcia's sort of grew into it, despite the fact Chelsea were all over us.
Doesn't sound like it makes sense that.
Overall...enjoyed watching them, even though it could have been 7 or 8.

shame that Celina couldn't get into the match more. he was anonymous.

the shocking thing was that, given the team selection, the players most at fault for the rout were Martin, Aleks, and Willy.
Martin was absolutely atrocious. gave away 2 goals and the pen.

Manuel's "offside trap" needs a serious rethink. that high line is very dangerous.

Anyone else think this will actually look bad on Pellegrini?

Refuses to play the kids all season when there has been ample opportunity to do so. Our squad then gets tired, picks up injuries and we are then left with the situation we basically ditch the FA cup and play six of them in one go. Then, they actually turn up and put a shift in, unlike their experienced team mates who let them down.

Hindsight is great, but lots of us on here have advocated playing the kids much, much sooner. Next two games are massive now.

After this season I hope the offside trap will be gone
Doesn't work and we are too static in defence
Expect comprehensive squad changes this summer

Thought all the boys did well. Disappointed in manu Garcia, that boy has a very bright future but when on the back foot often looked lost. Maybe playing along a better senior like yaya or Silva would help, playing against men alongside boys the game seemed to pass him by.

Dead impressed with the manc lad in defence adabada something. Our new lescott, fabulous tackler and reader of the game but Christ don't let him have the ball at his feet.

The one thing that worries me about our boys. Not one of them has any pace about them.

As for the rest, Fernando did nowt, zaba tried but still not 100%. But it really needs hammering home to the people that matter that all 5 goals were directly the result of Demi, kolarov and willy. Demi tries but his legs are gone. Keep him in a senior coaching role or something. Willy has just never been good enough. Bin him and promote Angus.

Kolarov is the most frustrating for me. There is a genuine world class player inside him but he's too fucking stupid to realise it and today was the last straw for me. Stealing a living comes to mind.

Overall, forget the score, the boys did well. Many positives, some things to work on, one or two may make it with us but you know the rest will all have good careers no matter where they end up.

Largely agree, but in fairness to Manu, he is very young and it looked like men against boys at times, because it was.
I thought he grew a bit when we got a bit of possession. Himself and Aleix showed they can play.
Agree about the speed issue, but I don't think the whole team got forward quickly enough second half. We were chasing the ball too much for too long.

There's enough quality in the youth set up and they should have been integrated long before now. When you see them out performing first teamers despite the pasting we got, you have to wonder why underperforming regulars have been allowed keep their cushy places without competition from these young lads.

yes. thats why when someone on here asked at the beginning of the season how many appearances any of our youngsters would get i was very pessimistic. in his tenure Manuel has never appeared interested in playing any of them at any point. obviously im not suggesting he should play them in big games but the early stages of the cups would've been perfect. instead, the first team squad gets overplayed and injuries hit and then the remaining squad is stretched too thin.

yeah, he is shocking with the ball at his feet. can't pick a pass.
