not surprised we conceded. if it wasnt for the Yaya goal the 2-1 would've been a disappointing result following that performance.

Fern 1 and Fern 2 were immense in the first half, so too Otamendi. yet Otamendi and Fern 1 dipped in the second half.
very interesting to see Fern 1 "out on the wing" in the 2nd half. it took away the best part of his game.

kinda gross dive from Sterling too. if he'd stayed on his feet he'd have been 1-on-1 with the keeper

I think the scoreline flattered Kiev. We could have had 6 or 7. I thought we played a high intensity pressing game which was a dress rehearsal for Sunday. I thought Yaya had his best game for a while but i still don't want him to start on Sunday. Kiev is one thing but Yaya will be like an infant in the Junior playground playing tig on Sunday.

Otter and kompany were very good indeed. Kompany looked to be getting back to his old self.

Sterling was a threat but the lad needs some serious coaching. Dave looking better but still not his imperious best and Aguero should have had a hatrick at least.

Still. Overall that was a fantastic result and I hope those 700 blues had a safe night and journey home.

I'm trying to find a positive in that post. You know, following that 3-1 win, away from home, with a depleted squad.

Ah, sorry, just noticed it was you mate.

I did say the 'older viewer', not old. Your post sounded very much what CamelGob was saying on BT, and he still managed to get digs in, even after that performance.

I replied not knowing who posted, but soon realised. The post actually comes across as somebody who is pissed off we have won a game so soundly.

I put the bt sport stream on before switching to Fox sports. I heard them mention Kiev winter break and lack of games and lineker said, yes but it was the same for midgetland against Utd. At which point camel gob says, yeah but they were playing a big team ho ho ho. As if to infer the midgets raised their game. So glad I didn't have to listen to any more of that drivel.

The fox sports coverage was Jonathan Pearce and Dean Ashton and was fairly decent apart from the penalty appeals where they said no pen and then pen and then contradicted themselves.

One little statistical snippet they said, was that Kiev have only had 2 seasons without European competition since 1973. That's some Stat.

It's a good stat but when you look at their league it's no surprise. The Euro competition cannot be underestimated though, they have plenty of pedigree and the game still needs to be won.

I watched a game a few weeks back on NBC, and how refreshing it was. No slky digs, no ex-Sky 4 pundits, it was a joy to behold. Just wish I could get a system that can get all these channels rather than Sky/BT et al.

Ps. Still smiling from last night.

that's because venting about frustrations is more satisfying than solely writing congratulatory posts. its why forums exist.

of course im happy with the 3-1 win, but im a cynic so positives will almost always be followed by negatives.

Having a moan is alright if you put some emotion and gusto into it. Just making a dull list of complaints is shit. But that's your style isn't it? Just pure shit.

And I don't think you know what "cynic" means.

It's been a given whilst Ukraine has been an independent state, but for them to do it as part of USSR for the best part of 20 years before that is no mean feat, especially in the era of far fewer teams qualifying for Europe
