Big Willy I suspect was largely pellegrini's signing and to be fair is a poor one. Not sure why we needed to let pantillimon go. But even that signing would have had to be sanctioned by the barca boys.

Not I. I actually lean towards Txiki being the lead man determining targets and signings, but Pellegrini has had a say.

regardless of who is choosing the targets and approving them, Txiki's negotiating is awful as evidenced by how much we got shafted for Sterling, Kevin, Otamendi (lets not get in to the 8m debate), Fernandinho (even if he did pay part of it himself), and Mangala.

Re the signings and who made them. It doesnt really matter. The manager chooses who to play on the day and if we lose, it can sometimes be attributed to the team selection and the managers tactics.

If Caballero is selected today and he has a poor game, or indeed if any of the eleven play poorly, then the buck stops with the manager.

Please please please play Hart. In a cup final you require your strongest side

What???

So your option is tell them they can only have 25M and hope for the best? Or sign no players?

If that is your attitude you'd better get used to it getting a whole let worse as next summer no club needs the money at all.

This is a bloke who put the whole squad on performance related contracts so we could stay within FFP constraints - I'd say he negotiates just fine.

Whatever happens it was an unacceptable risk to play Willy ahead of Joe. And that is totally Pellegrini's fault. No hiding place.

Obviously I hope Willy has little to do and does what he has to do very well but Pellegrini has taken a totally unnecessary risk. He's going of course and so is Willy

with players, sure. doesnt appear to be the case with other clubs though. how much did we pay for Mangala, £41m? thats absurd.

I don't know how much we paid for any of our players - just the media speculation bullshit from papers/organisations that don't have much good to say about us - I know there was a stockmarket message from Porto about Mangala but even that was speculated/assumed about, then the assumption applied to the whole deal (by people who have probably never had any dealings with European stockmarkets in their life).

People shouldn't fall back on the media is out to get us with inflated transfer fee news when people on here are critical of the transfer fees we have paid.

In the last 3 years we've had more bad signings than good comparable to the fee paid for them.
Still here.

And people shouldn't use unverified speculation to criticise the club.

I'm looking forward to the media praise of Pellers tomorrow. Rested some players last week and went on to win away in the Champs League and then win the League Cup, again. They will praise him all week long.
