Shots from range are fine, especially when we have 5-6 in front of them at all times.

We need to get better at holding possession though.

Rein it in? It's a contact sport and he has to keep tight. Just because they're diving about trying to con the ref doesn't mean he should stand off.

to some degree yes it does. eventually the ref could be conned. if the ref is buying their dives and/or blowing for cheap fouls you have to adjust.

Then we live with that. We can't have the guys protecting the back 4 standing off.

i never said stand off. i basically said be careful and be aware of how the ref is calling things.

Phips, you can tell you're a cunt when you get into arguments with City fans in almost every thread you post in

I agree with what you're saying as regards the ref being a twat. But I don't think he's done much wrong. They're just diving. Bet he gets first yellow of match though :-(

Think he's doing alright myself, scousers are pressing 3 men on him every time he gets the ball. Needs a bit of support to help play him out of trouble.

Agreed. That's partially what I meant. He's being surrounded rapidly and not getting much time on the ball. Surely that's part of Klopp's plan. Maybe some positional shifting is needed. Doesn't seem we are pushing our fullbacks up as much as we have due to the last game, so perhaps leading to more pressure focused there.

How the fuck Lucas and Henderson got out of that half without a yellow each is beyond me.

I think we've had the better of it too - still not 100% from us, but we're getting there.

I hope we can keep it up in this half. We're better than Liverpool in every department except running. If we back of we're ripe.

ITS BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE I WAS THIS NERVOUS!

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Thought our work off the ball last two games has been ten times better than others. Great chance for Sergio, had another touch in it but nevermind. Great having Kompany back and that looks our best defence at the mo.

Their pressing is still working but we aren't playing as risky as we normally do.

I feel we look more likely to score but somehow need to create more space. We never seek to counter/long pass but I wonder if it would work here.

Fully expect one of them to rake the back of Aguero's calf and injure him in second half. If so, then the blame can be laid at the referees door for allowing it

i like the defensive-minded approach that Pellegrini has taken. granted, Navas just returning and others being injured have sort of forced this team selection so maybe it wasn't Pellegrini's choice but its worked so far.

i can see one of the Ferns being sacrificed for Navas in order to chase a goal though.

Theory is Liverpool will get tired and we'll pick them off. Navas will come on for the coup de gras

As an aside, they really need to sort this club Wembley shit out. How many years has it been open? Yet still thousands of empty seats at 2nd half kick off right in front of the camera.

I'd like to see Nacho too, Sterling/Aguero/Nacho/Navas as a front four for the last 20 mins or so.
