It is my belief that you'll find very few Englishmen who want any English team (bar the munes) to lose to a German team. Personally I hope they put fifteen goals past you. Tottenham winning the Europa is much more palatable than any German team, or liverpool or the munes for that matter.

Who are and why do you call a team 'the Munes' ?

Bayern Munich.

So it's in reference to the 'Munich Air Disaster', that's so sweet.

phew. good thing im not English then.

i am aware, however, that Tottenham progressing as far as possible in the Europa League is better for City as Spurs having more matches potentially means more fatigue, travel, and injuries. however, as that is only a tangential relationship i have to side with the direct relationship and hope Dortmund win.
I'm not really a City fan. I'm just here for attention.

Years ago yes. Now I find it unpleasant if any other English team gets success. It's either a product of the media age or my middle age.

A bit of both perhaps.

And perhaps the (in my view) misguided perception put about by some folk that there is something fundamentally wrong with having any kind of pride in being English.

Europa League final 16 most intriguing its been since it was the UEFA Cup.

Spurs seem to be favourites to me, yet what's interesting is how it will play out since I believe a few months ago Pochettino was saying that wining it was their best chance at getting into CL. Now they may be the team that looks most likely to win the league.

Utd and Liverpool seem more like those that want to win it given their diminished chances at making the top 4, but I think Spurs want to show how good they can be, and Pochettino auditioning for a gig at a bigger club.

Well I'm pretty rabidly proud to be English, but I've come to hate our rival clubs so much. I'm sure the media is partly to blame, where everything City is evil and certain other clubs walk on water.

Nice one. As am I.

I agree there is a troublesome media element and perhaps me being over here shelters me from it a lot. I have no great love of spurs, but I do know a spuds fan who's a top bloke; I know fans of most clubs and think they are pretty good sorts. For them I wish them well when they don't play us. It's just scouse 1 & 2, arse and the filth and their fans that I have nothing but contempt for.

What is the story with all these rags joining the site lately...

It can't be the same gobshite with several different names at the same time surely?

That last one got well offended with the mune tag. Draws them out every time. He was doing so well...

Us Hartlepool United fans are 'monkey hangers' although I don't find it funny about any nicknames that are 'mocking' folk dying. Jeez, it's just a game of football for fuck's sake. "The last one got offended with the mune tag" I wasn't sure what it meant at first, but when I asked 2 days ago and 'Bayern Munich' was the response, then obviously I knew then. I know every football club has it's fans who are cunts.....

We should have won (I know I'm biased). Very few shots on goal, they had a couple, we had 4 or 5. But we had a blatant penalty in the 1st half, that wasn't given. We stopped their winning run, but only got 1 point. As for fans, they brought about a massive 300 !

Alternatively it's an abbreviated form of saying "Manchester United" - so we don't have to foul our mouths (or fingers) with saying/writing the full version - but if you want to be yet another of the professionally offended people who go around looking for something to be upset over then go ahead.
