Navas ahead of Sterling?

Postby PrezIke » Wed Mar 16, 2016 7:04 pm

Is this what is going on? If so, what is Pellegrini thinking?

I don't get it right now.

Navas is the better player atm. By a long way.

I'd play them both, drop Silva, and push Yaya up. Dave needs a big rest and his slump will continue until he gets it.

I actually think Pep could have a good affect on the likes of Navas. His first touch and control is currently better than Sterling's.
I've not been impressed with Sterling so far. He's so one footed and his first touch and ball retention/protection have left a lot to be desired.
He's young and probably feeling the pressure of his first season with us having cost half a trillion squid. Wait until we get a few more quality players in this summer. I'm still hopeful Pep can bring Raheem's qualities out of him.

Navas is MP signing , Sterling is Peps,s

Sterling being consistently being played on the wrong side of the pitch , brought off , subbed and general scapegoat.

Good job a proper manager is going to get him playing next season.

That's the hope.
I also hope he sees something in a few of our youngsters and manages to get them into the squad.

Agree and a good example was the recent league game vs scouse. Raheem didn't have a great 1st half, but he was at least working hard and offering an occasional threat. Which is better than many of our other players out there. Plus, the manager has to know that subbing Sterling off at halftime at the dippers is not the best for his self-esteem.

Sterling got frustrated with Rodgers for playing him in several different positions and said his preferred position was cutting in from the left. There is no evidence he is Peps signing either. He can't play for a club like us until he learns how to control a ball and retain possession. It's commendable he works hard but a yard dog can do that. Navas is a long way ahead and when Nasri and KDB are fit Sterling may not be on the bench.

Is this a genuine question?

Yes, Jesus has problems scoring, but his effort is two times better than Sterling. You will see Jesus run his heart out in the 94th minute. European Champion vs Big games bottler.

Sterling needs to get his head straight, hopefully Guardiola can fix that.

Have wondered all season whether Sterling is better suited to the right.

Isn't Sterling our second top goal scorer? How many has Navas got this season? Actually, how many assists has Navas got? Genuine question.

I think Navas should be limited to the second half of games.

He tends to turn back and spend a lot of time fleeing with the ball at his feet than attacking in the first half.

Been a bit of a second half highlight reel though.

the hilarity over sterling in this thread is comical. is that what is come down to make excuses for a player we spunked loads of money on? He's a pep signing and MP is playing him out of position on purpose. Jesus get a grip.

sterling has been wank this season. For the price we paid I expect world class, not milner level of contributions. Oh wait we bought him hoping he will become world class.

I'm sure they didn't buy him thinking he'd become 'world class' within 7 months.

Yep, second highest goal scorer, third highest for assists in all comps.

Navas has 1 goal 7 assists all comps.

Navas is rubbish and will be gone in the summer all being well - sterling ove him every time for me - sterling will be a far better player but needs to be given the playtime to aid his experience
