Are you calling Daz a POOFTAH!!! rule one - NOOOOOOOOOOOO POOFTAHS!!
rule two - no simpletons.
rule three - no bigots.
figure i've cast the net wide enough to stop you getting in there.
My friend (and I kind of knew this might come up with todays thought police ) Monty Python had a wicked sense of irony - please take it as such - Graham Chapman was gay btw - oh and some simpleton - cheers!
i didn't know it was a monty python quote - not their most celebrated work for sure.
Think you´ll find the "Bruce" sketch is widely acclaimed as a Python classic mate

I agree that if Kinkylola wins he has to promise to never call football 'soccer' EVER AGAIN!

Are you a high roller?

thank you for the good luck wishes ...
I'd come good on the promise of free rounds for mcf.net peoples by the way ... Id do that anyway, but the only way I'll wind up in jolly old is if I win this comp, haha.
What's the deal then? Do I have to do something on that etihaad site? or what?

I don't want to sound like a party pooper in all of this, but I actually entered the competition, and my entry is there (the first one). So I was kind of hoping you guys would vote for me, since i have never been to a city game.
I could never afford to go to the UK to watch City so this was my best option.
Wish me luck.!

I poured my heart and soul into the 10k post Mr Pint. I am a little taken aback by the votes to be fair but kinkylola gave a great post.
I would hope that 7 years of knocking around on this site would be more persuasive than a single post on this thread to gain votes. To win a comp like this would be totally amazing. If not, I'll get there the hard way.

10000 posts... plus another couple of thousand from the old board. What a brilliant 7 year association it's been.
I joined this site because the MEN comments pages wasn't quenching my thirst for all things City. I started my tenure in controversial circumstances asking those who slagged off Trevor Sinclair to 'fess up because he wasn't as shit as everyone said he was. In retrospect, maybe they had a point. haha
I've read comments from good posters and crap ones. There was a time when every word had to be read or else. I've met a few posters from this board and I can say that everyone has been absolutely brilliant. I have ambitions of meeting a truckload of you all and in my 5000 speech I announced I was coming over but circumstances prevented that from happenning. I would like to make it over for the derby and a few other matches next season. Once the ticket is bought, it will happen. I just need to overcome a couple of bumps and it shall occur.
Shout outs. My god, there are soooooo many. I used to shout out everyone over 1000 posts. However, I have this thing called a job which prevents that but maybe tonight after my daughter goes to sleep I'll grab a drink and sit down and pour out the love. At this stage it all goes to the Lads and fellow Leg ends but I'll get some names down later.
Supporting City is one of the best decisions I ever made. From the 1981 FA Cup final, although I was watching it on a black and white TV, thought the team in blue would be a good one to support. I thought nothing of it until the early 90's when in Oz we began to get some coverage of the weekend highlights. Watching Quinny score and one end and save a penalty from another reconfirmed my decision. Then they disappeared for a bit and came back and disappeared and although some clubs vied for my love and attention, noone could win me over. The clincher was when Danny Tiatto, my favourite Australian player signed for City. That was IT. It was time to take the relationship to another level and I was truly caught hook line and sinker.
When we win a trophy I'm going to think back to those times when the only coverage was the results section in Monday's paper. I'll think about those times of getting up at ridiculous hours to watch a match only to have the stream not work properly. I'll remember the crushing defeats, the ribbing from family and friends. And this place.
It will all be worth it.
Much love fellow blues.
All we are saying is give Doug a pass.

remember boys and gitls. Anyone is free to enter the Etihad comp.
This is a thread to see if we as a board should support a single (or a few) entries by putting some words and thoughts together and enterinng our "friends".
Discuss away

I don't expect to win, dazby surely deserves anything the club could do for him. I do dream of going to watch city ... I'm not giving up, I'll make it happen some day. That woulda been something special though.

Georgia probably hasn't had the internet for too long...
Dazby, I seem to remember, was all set to visit Manc, then baulked when PBL shit out. He obviously has the finances to do it, just not the willpower.
