We have lost twice all season once conteinsiouly and once when the players dicked it coz they thought the manager was the wrong guy.Our probs have been too many draws and thats what will cost us come judgement day but only if the top teams perform if not we CAN WIN THE LEAGUE IMO WITH 83 POINTS.

League Cup - Great possibility

Fa Cup - Still only a slim chance

IBH tell me why we cant win the league we are what 7 points off top with almost half a season to go and a squad that is probs better than any.Tell me please why we cant win the league?.

Largely because, extrapolated over a season, that would leave us 12 or 13 points off the top spot. That rarely, if ever, wins a club the league.

Why are people mentioning Villa in regards the FA Cup, but seem to forget they're still in Carling, too?

The best chance of a team winning the Domestic Treble, in my opinion, is if they aren't playing in/don't care about Europe. It is very, very rare that a club has the chance to have this ambition. This season, we could. But we won't do it. I'd say best case is LC winners, FA semis, and 3rd place in League.

Glad to see you've finally come out of your air raid shelter and caught up Burt.
I've been saying we can win the League for fuclin ages...There was me and Slim...then we convinced Gillie...and I believe Colin the King has come round to our way of thinking too.
Can we win the treble?....why the fucl NOT?

City can win things...and do win things...Ive seen it.
The League...I saw it
The FA Cup...I saw it
The League Cup...I saw it
The charity Shield...I saw it
The fuclin European Cup winners Cup...I saw it.....As did thousands of other City fans.

I can just picture some of you kids in the old Kippax, apologising for daring to think we could be successful.

IBH...Do I think Chelsea will crumble?...THEY DROPPED 9 FUCKING POINTS IN DECEMBER...CRUMBLE CRUMBLE CRUMBLE CRUMBLE.
...and why the fuck are you so certain that all the other clubs will suddenly improve, while we fade...YER JUST A NEGATIVE PUSSIE.
CRAZEEE...Now is the time NOT to shut up...Now is the time to chant, cheer, sing and dance all the way to the top.

THE LOT OF YOU...STOP APOLOGISING FOR WANTING TO BE SUCCESSFUL AND STOP BEING FRIGHTENED OF EXPECTING IT!

Ps...Burt...I think I am in love with you...but don't tell Gillie cos he gets jealous...:-)
BIB...Check out my sig...That's why I put it there. That's if you have the time between extrapolations.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

Jesus. This is starting to remind me off first half of the season under Sven. People start setting completely unrealisic targets and when we don't match them in the end of the season they will be screaming for managers head despite us meeting the original targets.

This is the team that most people said at the start of the season that they'd be satisfied with fifth spot and pushing for fourth (that was my target and some people even said that I'm too harsh on Hughes) and decent cup run. We are very much on course to achieve that.

I think we should just enjoy the improvement and take one step at a time. Despite the good start, Mancini isn't going to win all the remaining games.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I know what you're saying Antti and obviously setting unrealistic expectations can cause problems. But these aren't expectations, they're dreams. I think what Burt's putting across is not that we should, but we CAN win the FA Cup, League Cup and the title. Why? Because we're still in the running. If it becomes mathematically impossible- we can't win the league anymore. If the filth beat us over two legs- we can't win the league cup anymore. If Scunny do us over in a few weeks- we can't win the FA Cup anymore. But as it stands right now, we can and therefore I see nothing wrong with hoping and believing so.

You and I aren't too far apart in age and neither of us have seen anything other than shite in the time we've been blues, but, as John enthused to me at the match the other night, just because we can't remember success doesn't mean it never happened. City won trophies for fun at one point and there's no reason we can't do it again. The biggest block is the mental block.

I expect Mancini, as things stand, to finish 4th and get us to the League Cup final. I hope we go and win everything there is to win. So should all of us.

Dare to dream.

But neither are the other teams, NQDP. I know winning the league this season is going to be very, very hard. Probably we won't do it. But the fact remains, that as we are now and considering the form of those above us so far, WE COULD. So until math rules us out, I'm gonna believe in it, I've seen many times teams coming from behind to win the league, in Italy, in England, in Spain, it happens everywhere. It's going to be tough, but it is possible, and that's the important.

As for the cups, I think we have a great chance in Carling Cup, and with Liverpool and United out, we could have a chance in FA Cup, if draws help us a bit (but not necessarily, we can beat anyone of the remaining teams, although of course I'd prefer for Arsenal and Chelsea to meet each other so that one goes out and we have one tough contender less, and the same goes for Villa and Everton)

So, can we win the Treble this season? Fucking hard to do, of course, but yes, we can. If we will do it, of course, remains to be seen.

Believing that we are going to win the league, you are only setting yourself for disappointment and will not be able to enjoy if we reach our target of Champion's League place.

I said something different though. I said I believe we could win the league, not that we are going to. If results won't go our way in the next month, then I'll know we can't realistically do it anymore, and that's it, but until we are out of the mix, we have a slight chance.

The real intersting thing about this season is that 6th place is no longer looking like a definite europe qualification spot. That only happens if teams in top 5 win the cups.
