Probably the worst post I've seen on this site in a while, what the fuck has the colour of the supporters skins got to do with this? You have posted this shit, and apparently thought about it first, even after he took the trouble to be interviewed again, and find a City shirt to wear, and explained how he came to be wearing the Arsenal T-shirt.

Let's review the facts for your benefit:

He was in a very serious life threatening situation, his friend died in his arms, more of his friends were injured in the attack, the press all want to speak to him = His head is in bits, you can see that just by looking at him in the interviews.

All his clothes for the trip were in the first bus that got ripped apart by gunmen, he is in a hotel with the rest of the squad trying to come to terms with what has happened and so has no clothes = He had to ask someone to lend him a T-Shirt because he was going to be interviewed as the team captain and it happened to be an Arsenal one, if he had his choice of clothes to wear on that day he would have surely chosen a Togo team shirt of some description

He plays for us because we bought him, we offered the money that Arsenal wanted for him and so were allowed to talk to him, we then offered him a salary he was happy with and sold something about the club to him as a good idea ( in this case the project of turning the club into a trophy winning force ) so he signed. So pretty much like every single other transfer then, THAT is why he plays for City and what shirt he wears in the above situation has absolutely no implications either way in that respect.

Oh and I'm sure that he cares just as much about the colour as my skin as I do about the colour of his, i.e. NOT AT FUCKING ALL

Trying not to be too controversial here, but Ade obviously needs help.

Some guys in this world, especially if they've been in the army or emergency services, or seen it all in some way or another, or are just hard bastards, would be at work the next morning with just a lump in their throats, that's the way they are trained/made.

It was clear at first though that this is a guy who had serious issues about who wouldn't speak to him or say hello when we played Arsenal, and he is a very sensitive soul who would be deeply affected, more than many, by this tragedy.

But I would question whether Togo is the best place to recover, apart from being with his family. Maybe after a week or so he can be persuaded to come back to England for the best counselling or psychiatric care to help him recover? Otherwise I can see it lasting a long time.

I agree with that John..He should come back to England and be with his immediate family, close friends, get some counselling and be around the City squad just to get some normality back in his life.
Watched the latest interview last night in his City away shirt. His heads totally fluckedup :-(

I completely disagree...who would you rather be with after a traumatic experience...your work mates or your family?

He should stay in Togo until he feels ready to come back

im sure the club will have people ready to help him when he gets back. for now the best place for him is to be among the guys who shared that experience with him.

hope he comes back strong.

I think he's better off where he is but I also think he looks in a bad way. The shirt business shows the kind of pressure he could get from the press & fans here; they won't understand if he's not ready to play after a short while & will start making up stories about him.

I did say his Immidiate Family..Who live wth him in England...At present he is still with the Togo players (work mates as you say) Its natural for them to comfort eachother at present but how long do you do that for? Its wont make him better in the long run.I think he should just come back in the next few days.

OK, Irblinx, you missed the point of my post big time by jumping all over the word "white." My argument is that he plays for the cash and has no particular allegiance to the place where he gets his income, most of whose people are foreigners to him, with language, culture, and other factors making them so. "Mercenary not Mancunian" as I said. I'll give you that skin colour is probably the least significant factor there (less so than his salary compared to the folk who go to watch him play) but, my, how sensitive you still are to any mention of race in England. Here in the Bronx people have mostly moved past that.

Personally, I am relieved that he made it through such a horrific experience alive and, all things considered, well. I would prefer an Arsenal shirt to a bodybag any day of the week. The guy needs support and understanding, not the kind of petty bitching that has been evident on this thread.

Jeez.. Im not bitchin!! I was just simply wondering what the thinking was behind it . This is a forum and this topic is in correspondence to the title, 'why Ade was wearing an Arsenal shirt'. There's another thread where people share their sorrows on what happened. I really do feel there are so many out there that are still yet to grasp this whole internet forum malarkey!! Do you really think its so wrong and CrAZy that City fans are questioning why he has an Arsenal shirt on?? Im sure those on here that oppose to such questions are deep down asking themselves the same questions and wonder what the reason was for Ade to be wearing an Arsenal shirt. If you say you are not wondering such things, you're a lier.

Is it so wrong or crazy in this instance? Definitely. Deep down, I don't wonder why people wear certain articles of clothing, especially when they've been traumatised and I don't care if this is a different thread on an internet forum. My feelings and opinion on Ade remain the same; he's had rough time of it and needs help and support no matter what he wears.

That's my honest opinion on the matter. Keep calling me a liar if you want, I really couldn't give a toss.

Fuck me I have heard it all. Someone from the USA, the country which is infinitely more racially divided than the UK is preaching to us on how sensitive we are. "We've mostly moved past that"....my arse you have.
