I'm hearing ya Burt.

Not only are we going to win the league, we will walk it by at least 10 points, we WILL win the Carling Cup in an eight goal thriller, only conceding one. As for the FA Cup, without a doubt they should start dressing it up in Blue NOW.

CITY ARE COMING!!

It's still a possibility of course, and agree with the need for positive thinking.

Personally I would settle for a 'single' trophy form those three.

Edit:
ps. just noticed John's updates signature line. Obviously he had to adjust it to accomodate the change from 2 to 3 points for a win. But if we look at it the other way round (i.e. using the old 2 pt system) we are actually doing better this season than in 1968. We'd have 28pts with 10 wins and 8 draws, compared to the 25 we did get (with 12W 3D). So sign me up for your believers group John too!!!!

Dead right we can win the treble, why not? We're in a semi-final of one cup, still in the other and only 7 points off the top of the league and only half way through the season, we now have a quality manager and a squad as strong as Chelseas & Arsenals and better than the scum & liverpools. I never expected us to be here at this stage of the season but the last 4 results have catapulted us into the top four and has also catapulted my dreams. I beleive!

I said when there was all this nonsense pre-Xmas about 'targeting 4th, 6th' or whatever, or 'x' number of points, that the only important target is the next match.

When you have the former mentality you tend to think subconciously 'oh well it's OK to lose at Chelsea (eg), we're still in our target'. What a load of shite.

Thank goodness Bobby Manc shares my view that the only target is to win the next match. If you do that, you will win trophies, anything is possible.

When we won the league in 68 no one thought at the beggining of the season that we had a chance ,but as the season went on we all started to beleive that we could and we all know what happened even if we did leave it late . So what is stopping us now in beleiving that anything can happen.

Its City after all!!!

i've been having actual fucking dreams about winning the league since the season started, in one of them we had beat the scum at the swamp to lift the trophy, fucking right we can do it.

Arsenal are having a revival atm but it will slow down they can never keep the momentum, every season they do it, Chelsea have already lost a few games they should have won. The scum have got 2/3 good players left and are struggling and liverpool look dead and buried.

as for the carling cup as far as im concerned it our's

the two best teams left in the FAcup we've already beat and can do it again

negative fuckers can say mancini has had it easy with easy fixtures but when the harder fixtures come along we'll have our best players back so we'll be even better

i say were going to win the Carling cup, the FAcup and finish 2 then next year were doing the quad VIVA LA BLUE REVOLUTION

From a quick calculation, when taken at today's points, and games played, we won the league with 71 points in 36-37, and 63 in 67-68. The lowest number of points needed to win the league in the last decade is 80.

One more thing. When your sig hits 38 games, the City of old still had another 4 matches to clock up points.

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the sig, but as a novelty, not a statistical reference point.

Going to sound WUMish but I am lead to believe through talking to a guy I work with that people at the club now feel that we can win the league this season and there is a massive belief running through the squad. If they believe then so do I.

I’m hearing that Mancini has changed everything at the club and for the better. I was really reluctant about him at first but if he has them truly thinking that they can win the league then getting him to the club was a shrewd move.

So yeah im with you on this......CITY for the treble.......Ha Ha (never thought I would ever say that)

Do you know what, I'm in a holiday demob state and I'm joining Cpt Burt's merry band of uber optimists and I'm going for typical City, but not as we know it!

So City for the treble.....off to lie down for a while as I regenerate some more optimism cells

i had the same thought myself this morning but quickly convinced myself otherwise, but honestly, we have a chance, whether slim, good or great, to win each of these.

top 4 and a cup would be great for this season considering how far we have come.

yeah i can understand us not wanting to dream because it seems the minute we do, we are all brought crashing back down to earth but in the words of MLK.........

the fact we have beaten chelski and arse, drew against pool and well, we all know "that" games result... we are surely in for a great ride for the rest of this season.

i for one shall enjoy it, BIG TIME!!

If we won the Carling Cup this season then brilliant. If we win the FA Cup even better. But I think if we finish in a European spot then that should be classed as a good achievement.

I think it COULD happen, but doubt it WILL happen however..... I'd be more than ecstatic with a Trophy and CL spot for next year.... IF we actually managed to win the league this year, there is a very realistic chance that I would do some serious damage to my body.....

I predict we will finish 3rd!
