Weiss set for loan move [merged]

Weiss set for loan move [merged]

Postby Vhero » Fri Jan 15, 2010 4:36 pm

MANCHESTER City manager Roberto Mancini has confirmed youngster Vladimir Weiss will be allowed to leave on loan this month.

The young Slovakian has been a regular on the bench for City this term but actual time on the pitch has been harder to come by.

Recognising he is trying to earn a place at this summer's World Cup and realising opportunities will be even further reduced once the campaign reaches its critical stage, Mancini has told Weiss he can seek a move.

Bolton's new boss Owen Coyle is among those who have expressed an interest in the 20-year-old, although the final decision will be left to the player.

"It is possible Vladimir will go somewhere on loan," said Mancini.

"He is a good young player who is going to be important to this club in the future.

"But he needs to play. We have not decided where though. That will be Vladimir's choice."

Weiss To Be Loaned Out

I agree with this totally & I like the idea that Mancini is thinking of the player/club rather than just keeping him around for the sake of it. That suggests he thinks he'll still be in a job next season which suits me.

Him and Hart are part of the future.

Good move if they can get decent premiership experience, get points off our competitors and build their reputations. Not sure about Bolton though suppose for a youngster its better to be local.

I think it is going to be a good move. After all, he can't play against us, can he? And Bolton is not a rival for fourth spot, so it's a win-win situation for City and Weiss, he's happy because can play, we are happy because he gets experience in the Prem and hopefully develops into a very good player, and he might help Bolton nick points from our rivals in the race to the fourth spot (and beyond...)

I'd get him to a Europa League club abroad- maybe Ajax or Standard.

Also would make Bolton worth watching if he went there, which would be an historic moment.

Would prefer a premiership club myself so he can gain prem experience and we can keep a closer eye on him.

What's he going to learn at Bolton? I want Bolton to go down as well so I'd rather he didn't go there.

giggle
Berbatov wins golden boot, spends following season on the bench while his team loses title on goal difference. Well played, Fergie.

I think we might see better football played there under Coyle. A good move for Vlad and us imho.

A good move for us and Weiss if this goes ahead. Good experience for him and it will benefit him and he will come back a better footballer!

where have all the blokes gone who wanted him to get a run in the team?
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

We would love for him to get a chance and have a good run in the starting lineup but that wont happen at the moment and by him going to a differant club, He will hopefully be able to start a few games and see what he can do and that will benefit him and us in the long term!

it would be good experience for him, and if coyle plays good football he could be a shining light in their survival, and come back to us full of confidence and also have a world cup under his belt.

run being the operative word!

i would have liked to have seen him play a few games but only on the basis of what has been reported from reserve games, a few snippets of internationals and a glimpse or so in the games he has played. mancini has been watching him in training and spent more time with him than we have, if mancini does not think weiss is worthy of a place over swp, bellers or petrov at the moment then better he develop and prove himself somewhere else so he can come back to us. mancini probably thinks there is something there or he would be looking to sell him on, i dare say we would get a decent price for him now. one for the future i think and this will bring that future closer
